craig 680
It also got a surprising amount of airplay on pop. Didn't go Top 10 there as well as on the Hot 100? Pop radio airplay was disappointing, considering how much the public liked the song and how big of a star Gaga is. Grammy nominated soon to sell 2 million, and pop radio wouldn't support it properly. jhonyguy04 3
yea it went to #7 i believe on the pop charts (dont quote me though lol). Yeah i was worried at first but ended up being a great choice. Many people that usually dont care for her was like "that you and i song is really good. I w as shocked when i found out it was lady gaga, i thought she only sang dance songs" it gave her more respect as an artist. its so sad the general public have that perception of gaga. that she only does dance music, and she is talentless. They play Adele ballads, they played Swift's You Belong to Me, they played a couple crossovers from rock radio. Yuyi was rock as much as country. Arturo 40,746
None of the singles from Born This Way were generic. Or anything from Born This Way for that matter. Judas was probably the most generic yet it had a deep meaning that flew over 11 year olds heads as they jammed out to it

I love it though, one of my favourites :) Edited May 13, 2012 by andrewsalt
Freddy 4,421
To me You and I being released as a single was one of the best thing that happened of the entire era. This forum almost crashed when it was announced as a single, but it brought so much new Gaga fans.... and the Metronomy mix is fantastic T_T I think Scheisse is pretty generic. He was talking about singles. Edited May 13, 2012 by Freddy

Yuyi was rock as much as country. You Belong to Me is MUCH more poppy than Y&I, which is sad for Swift tbh. Gaga went more country than her. Adele could release a screamo track and get played. Speaking of Adele, RHI is officially dead. Her first under-performance of the era. Today's radio update: - 1.157 ADELE Rumour Has It 8339 -100 -134 -122 54.146 -1.059 Radio WANTED to keep playing her, but couldn't ignore the digital struggles any longer. (Just like they kept rejecting Carly, but can't ignore her huge sales anymore either) Edited May 13, 2012 by Americano
Ozzy8923 9
Hold It Against Me had a breakdown too, was that song fresh? Yes, HIAM slays all possible lives. Hell, it's so amazing and fresh that it slays the lives of people whose lives already had been slayed before. Americano 31,061
Y&I outpeaked RHI on iTunes actually, since it went Top 3 and RHI barely went Top 20. Clearly Gaga slays the ballads. :derpga: Edited May 13, 2012 by Americano

If Adele had promoted and made a video the song could of done very well. But she didn't so.......... screw it.
saltface 177
Like Judas, Scheiße sounds generic if you don't look into the feminist lyrics that are right in your face Not lyrically generic, just production-wise. Says a lot about RedOne tbh If Adele had promoted and made a video the song could of done very well. But she didn't so.......... screw it. Well said. RHI deserves to flop

(Just like they kept rejecting Carly, but can't ignore her huge sales anymore either) Adele officially flopped if you consider her first 3 singles. And it was a horrible one too. Not even Top 10... Her label is going to want to rebound. I'm calling Turning Tables to have a U.S release right now!
