boysboysboys 278
I am glad WHYB is successful. That means dance music is still in, and thats good for Gaga. I want more dance Gaga too!! I'm not. They're exhausting people's appetites for dance music. I fear for its relevance in the next few years. Edited May 9, 2012 by boysboysboys
Oyemiamor 40
They're exhausting people's appetites for dance music. I fear for its relevance in the next few years. Things change, it is inevitable. I am not worried about Gaga, she is much bigger than just one flash in the pan genre of music. I remember when Ace of Base was all the rage and how quickly that dissipated and opened up for grunge and alternative acts. That was a great time with Nirvana, Alanis, the Offspring, Pearl Jam..... Americano 31,061
Gaga is already moving away from typical dance music anyway. TEOG/Y&I/MTN were all a deviation from usual dance pop. TEOG - 60s/70s stadium rock Y&I - country ballad MTN - 70s underground metal/rock influence Edited May 9, 2012 by Americano

craig 680
Things change, it is inevitable. I am not worried about Gaga, she is much bigger than just one flash in the pan genre of music. I remember when Ace of Base was all the rage and how quickly that dissipated and opened up for grunge and alternative acts. That was a great time with Nirvana, Alanis, the Offspring, Pearl Jam..... NOBODY who was big in the 80s thrived in the mid-90s music climate. Madonna, NJ, Kylie etc all suffered career downturns. It's not easy when you're the queen of the previous hot genre to transition to something new and be equally successful.

craig 680
Gotye ft. Kimbra now #1 on US dance. It has been helped by decent selling remixes, it's success shouldn't be seen as an anti-dance trend. http://blog.promotion-us.com/gotye-kimbra-somebody-that-i-used-to-know-1-billboard-dance-chart
