Cheryl is a riddled wee mess and that song is a festering pile of minge, tbh. No time for either.

Interest in Cheryl is obviously still there because there was a lot of buzz surrounding her track before its radio premiere. Cheryl's track is produced by man of the moment Calvin Harris, which is also going to help massively.

As for Marina, like you said, she's never really been particularly relevant (no shade, it's just a fact) here, and tbh, Radioactive just wasn't very good, so it was never going to be a massive hit. On the other hand, Cheryl's had some big UK hits, and she used to be the nation's sweetheart, so just because she hasn't been in the headlines recently, it doesn't mean the public are going to turn against her.

It's gonna be big. Radio are gonna eat it up, it's perfect for the summer, and the general public have sympathized with her over the X-Factor USA fiasco, so she's not going to have to worry about lack of public support. You don't get a lot of people being all "omg, poor Simon, we hate Cheryl!!", it's "Cheryl was treated like ****"

Really? Because it was just her fans I heard being excited about it.

Cheryl was never the nation's sweetheart. I don't know which media outlet gave her that title but it was completely untrue and it seemed like everyone I spoke to and saw on the internet made one thing very clear "She's not my sweetheart." No, that title was a media fabrication in order to make sure that Cheryl got success as an X Factor judge, solo artist and got lots of headlines. Think her management and Simon Cowell must have made a deal with the papers to call her that or something. Princess Diana was the nation's sweetheart. Cheryl is in no way comparable to her. Actually, Simon once said Cheryl was like Princess Diana when she appeared in the public eye and his comments sparked an outcry at how offbase and offensive the comparison was.

And I don't see what's so summery about the track - it's bland and doesn't make me want to dance at all. And frankly, the public reaction when Cheryl got sacked was exactly the opposite. The general consenus was:

"That girl was way over her head. She never would have made it in the US."

"She never deserved the job in the first place."

"I can barely understand what she's saying. How could Americans understand her?"

"She was starting to believe her own hype too much and thought she was more successful than she really was."

"She thought she was too good for the UK and turned her back on the country that made her a star as soon as she got the chance."

"If anything, she should be thanking Simon for giving her this massive opportunity even though it didn't work out."

"A riddled wee mess." One of the reasons why you're one of my favourite members.

Yes, really. It was all over news sites before and after it premiered. Even NME were harping on about it.

And yes, she WAS the nation's sweetheart. The outpouring of sympathy expressed by the public after the whole Ashley affair bull**** was absolutely massive, and it was BLATANTLY clear that she was the most popular X-Factor judge. The public absolutely adored the woman and to try and play that down is just plain stupid. It seems to me you're downplaying just how popular she was just because you dislike her.

The track is a club banger which is going to be played everywhere over the summer. It's...a summery sounding song.

And yes, OF COURSE there were various critics regarding the X-Factor fiasco, but the general feeling was very much in support of her, and I REMEMBER that fact because I was disgusted by it. So...yeah. :smh:

Reporting on it doesn't equal people being excited for it, though.

Sure, the public sympathised with her, but that doesn't make her the nation's sweetheart. But you seem to be ignoring a massive section of the community that hated her. I'm not trying to play it down because I don't like her, I'm being realistic.

I for one, don't find it summery or danceable at all. Dance music from the 90's and early 00's is where its at, not this bland garbage. I don't like WFL, but I find that more danceable than this soulless mess.

Maybe you only saw one side of the story. I saw much more people laughing at her compared to those supporting her.

Most people love Cheryl Cole and the buzz surrounding her new track is massive in my college.

But that's just it, a "massive" section of the community didn't hate her back then. Sure, she had her detractors, but for the most part, she was pretty much universially loved. Nothing you say can deny that fact.

And there's the problem, just because YOU don't find it "dancey" doesn't mean it ISN'T. It just is, and the general public will eat it up. CMN and WFL are both similar, both produced by the same guy, both have the same objective.

And no, I saw both sides of the story. I'm just telling it like I saw it.

so what time does the BTWB start for us tomorrow?

Gaga goes on stage at 1:30pm British time, which is 8:30pm in Korea. Knowing Gaga, she may be a few minutes late, though. Which means it's just 21 hours away!

I would legit not be surprised, 2010 was GaGa, 2011 Katy (although she only won 3 I think :teehee:), they hate Rihanna, and after her calling them a bunch of ****s i doubt they'll give her many awards, so it's obviously gonna be Nicki :yell:
