I love that Gaga edited her Twitter.

I feel like it's one step closer to the new era. :legend:

She seems to have this rule that her background must be her DP awkwardly tiled :toofunny:

The Sun claims this, which means it might not be true. But knowing Rihanna, I wouldn't put it past her.

Oh yeah, and the UK press has really pulled out all the stops on making sure Adele constantly pop up in articles about how much money she made and how much her album's sold. She made the most money out of any UK artist this year. Let's see her repeat that for year after year. Topping the list once when you released an album that was a massive hit doesn't make you one of the most successful pop artists in the world. I couldn't believe it when she made headlines for overtaking Thriller's UK sales. Tell us when she overtakes Queen's Greatest Hits UK sales (the biggest selling album in the UK). Then it will be news.

No wonder people think Gaga has been totally overshadowed when all they read and hear about is how brilliantly amazingly authentically talented and successful she is. Until Adele tours, she'll be in the shadows of Gaga and other entertainment juggernauts, financially. I don't think she needs or wants that kind of cash really though, she seems a bit simple and would have been content enough had 21 sold only a million copies. She's not craving legendary superstardom like Gaga.

The Thriller overtaking hyperbole is hilarious. It's remarkable she's outsold it, but outselling an iconic album in the UK doesn't really mean anything. It certainly doesn't make her album iconic by default.

Yeah, anyone looks like a flop next to Adele currently, so it's not really a fair comparison. I think Adele's success was a big factor in how Gaga was percieved as next to her, she looked like an attention seeking clown and appeared to lack substance. It's ironic because if they want substance, they just need to listen to Gaga's lyrics and think whereas you don't have to think when you hear Adele's music as it's basic music that's easy to understand upon first listen. There's nothing to a--lyse. Yet we're told that this is music with substance.

I was pleased to see that the internet found it laughable that the UK press made such a big deal about her overtaking Thriller. I think the best comment I saw was: "So what? Thriller's the best selling album on a worldwide scale. When she overtakes that, then we'll talk. People are still buying Thriller 30 years from now. Will people still be buying Adele's music 30 years from now? I think not."
