One Direction will be gone in a year. lol They're not even as relevant as Justin Bieber, who can BARELY stay relevant himself. Americano 31,061
Try telling that to someone more deluded than a Katycat Dont even bother. They're essentially Jonas Brothers 2.0, so it's not worth the arguing.

She has publicity stunts, they have nothing. Like every other boy band that has come around, they won't last.
Jack 2
*I like them, not in the way 13 year old girls like them (I find one of them nice looking), some of their songs are cute & catchy. *

Henryy 11
I have nothing against 1D or Biebs. I don't care for their music mostly, but the amount of hate they (especially JB) receives is just ridiculous. Listen to your own music and appreciate that some people like teen pop. The TTs are a little annoying though. Cute and catchy doesn't have longevity. Not that I think 1D has longevity. But that's exactly how Britney and JT and Xtina started. And they've done alright!
Americano 31,061
I don't mind Justin Bieber at all. Britney Spears and Timberlake (Once going solo, which is how he lasted) weren't boybands, so you can't even compare that lol. Totally different breed.Plus, when Britney rose to fame she rapidly became a cultural icon for her generation. 1D have not had that kind of rise, a ton of people still don't even know who they are Edited May 6, 2012 by Americano
Jack 2
Cute and catchy doesn't have longevity. Fair enough, but if they really stayed together (which they wont, I'm sure once they're current contract is over they'll go their own ways, like most boybands) and matured their image, they could go as far as the effort they put in. Look at Westlife, they managed to stay somewhat relevant. (I don't know how big they are WW, but in the UK which was their target market they did anyway). They have released like one single. But Bieber and 1D in the UK's following among the pre-teen market (helped by twitter) is significant. It doesn't feel that big to you, maybe, but that's because you're not a preteen girl (which I am).

(I'm not dissing them, I'm just not very big on the UK music scene.) And yeah, that's what I meant. Boy bands don't have longevity, since the one rule with them is that they almost always break up.
