Young is basic and generic, but it's got a catchy enough chorus to save it. Not going to be remembered, but for me it made far more impression on first listen than Cheryl's did. I have no recollection of how that sounded and no desire to re-listen to it.

How long can Carly keep this up? Is there really enough tweens in the UK to buy this garbage? I get that the whole "embracing classic, fun, happy pop music" idea is really in right now but this is surely a song you'd bop away to when hearing it on the radio or listen to it on YouTube? Who would actually buy it?

Nice to see Gaga creeping back on the charts again with considerable leaps. At this rate, BTW may well remain on the top 100 for a year straight and that's all I ask. And when she inevitably falls off, she'll bounce back on the charts again when she tours here in September. And hopefully, she'll have a new single a month or two after that, boosting sales yet again, and by the time her new album's released, the UK will be on full on Gaga stan mode again and we'll have a whopping three Gaga albums charting on the top 100. Can't wait.

Perfect a--lysis. I'd dance to Young for the hell of it if I was in the best of moods but even if I was wasted, I wouldn't dance to Call My Name. I don't get how people are saying it's a summery song - Young is summery, not this wannabe club banger anthem. But if they share one thing in common, it's that neither of them was written by the artist, so there's no soul in either. They're just mindless music designed to be hits. A guilty pleasure to dance to, but I wouldn't dream of adding them to my CD collection or lining the artist's pockets.

Because a happy sounding song doesn't equal summery sounding and I think that's the mistake a lot of people are making. I know sounds well. I have a sound fetish, if you must know. I can distinctly detect summery sounds. I don't see why you're taking such offence - you don't even like either of the girls. I can take a different opinion but please do not call my argument pathetically stupid. As I have not done the same to you, I find that very rude. If you're not keen on my thoughts on the matter, just don't reply to them if they irk you that much, but don't insult me.
