Jase 13,043
Yay! Is she performing Blue Jeans? Yup I'm sad that she + Marina both bombed in the US. I had hope for Lana for a little while, but yeah..
Americano 31,061
I knew after SNL that Lana's career was dead here. The media literally ripped her a new asshole. I remember watching the morning news and they were literally laughing at her, and a reporter said she was a joke Edited April 28, 2012 by Americano

Americano 31,061
It's cute. Just disappointed in her entire album era though, such a lost opportunity
Jase 13,043
Someone is singing Titanium on The Voice tonight, so expect that to fly back up iTunes
toanythingtaboo 5
There's an asshole Adele stan on DS who was smugly proclaiming Lana would out-slay Gaga this year. I think people got a bit ahead of themselves off the back of Adele's success when predicting Lana's success, but I always thought it was kind of obvious that she would have more of a Florence level of success. UK-centric notoriety and critical acclaim but not chart dominance, and only really brush the surface in the US. It's a shame, but c'est la vie. It'd be nice if Marina crossed over more successfully, but she's probably too odd-ball and if she doesn't slay here then I doubt the US would pay much attention to her. Henryy 11
There's always that chance that either Marina or Lana get that one song that catches on in the US that never charts high but somehow racks up like 3x platinum like 'Dog Days Are Over' did for Florence and 'Paper Planes' did for M.I.A. Primadonna impacted US pop radio and they literally ignored it completely.
Jase 13,043
Primadonna is great. Disappointed her Graham Norton performance hasn't pushed her into the top 10 on iTunes, though :noparty:

If Gaga or Rihanna or someone had released it, it would've been picked up, but it just doesn't have that special quality that a debuting song needs. I'm SO surprised 'We Run the Night' failed to catch on in the US though.

I think we can stick a fork in Lana, but I haven't completely lost faith in Primadonna in the US yet. I don't think it'll slay or anything, but there may be some random promo that gets it noticed.
