If "female empowerment" means something like a bunch of women dressed in skimpy clothes and having men follow their flirty behaviour, then I'll pass. The concept of female empowerment these days is skewed beyond all recognition. Simply having women in your video doesn't make it so. Dressing women provocatively doesn't make it so. Women acting sexual in a way that pleases men definitely doesn't make it so. I'm amped up for another cringe-fest like Work Bitch, if I'm being honest. Britney just can't pull off sexiness like she used to, it's all so forced and by-the-book now but she's not got the same spirit anymore.

There's nothing empowering about adhering to every sexual stereotype that men want you to be. You wouldn't find men making a video like this because they're raised to keep their sexuality dignified. It's possible for women of an older age to be sexual but keep it classy. The same way that older men can be sexual but classy. I really dislike how women are raised to be believe that stripping off equals fun and empowerment when men aren't raised in the same way. If men don't feel the need to do it, women shouldn't either. Fergie's video is what you do when you're frightened of being seen as old and irrelevant. The only way that older females in music seem to get any sort of acknowledgement these days is if they do something provocative and trashy and it's really sad. Justin Timberlake's a 35-year-old husband and father and he doesn't feel the need to do this stuff. Neither does Jay Z. Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. were all married fathers when they did Blurred Lines, but at least they were fully clothed and in control in the song (which is more than could be said of those poor girls). Men understand empowerment very differently to women, I find. Surely such a concept requires us to be on the same page?

Women can adhere to whatever they want. Seriously this isn't a hard concept and a feminist such as yourself should support what a woman wants to do rather than complain about it because you don't like it. Also the generalization you constantly use while talking about men is just as ignorant as your views on what a woman is doing with her body, lol.
