n0ne 13,105
I've never understood the praise for the babadook; literally 1 of the dullest horror films I've seen. It's idea was pretty freaky I would have liked it to have followed a different path though. I havent seen Neon Demon, but it sounds interesting. I'm sorry but I really did not enjoy The Witch. I found it terribly boring. As for the Conjuring the first one is worth a watch, but the second really falls short on a lot of things. In terms of the Conjuring or anything similar, I find once the demon or monster has revealed itself fully it become less treating. Just the idea that something 'could' be there is scary enough, but when you take away that premise, when you take the monster from out of the shadows, I feel like it looses a lot of what it was set out to do. The witch is more thematic than plot driven, it's mostly about paranoia and superstition. It's actually an art film in disguise I think so it's not for everyone :') I agree with the monster thing, films like Blair Witch had no monster or any kind of special effects it was literally just people running through the woods and that is a lot scarier than these CGI jump scare monster/demon films we have nowadays. Agreed. I think it may be because our own imaginations can create something more scarier than what we see. If you see it materialize, it's someone else's imagination and many times, doesn't measure up to our own personal fears we create from within. The anticipation of this monster that you rarely saw but you could see and hear the damage it created was truly fearful. I didn't know there was a JC 2? Was JC the one that started out where that freaky truck was following a brother and sister and that led them to his "house"? I think I remember that was really good, but the ending lacked something... There was tension when watching both these films. Overall not the best horror films but entertaining. Mars..........or bust!

prince 4,688
I need to know some decent modern horrors, i'm a fan of the classics purely for the suspense, fashion and the whole vibe of old horror. I feel like now it's about scare factor and nothing else (correct me if i'm wrong). Some favs of mine are Halloween, The Shining, The Thing (the remake is pretty good too tbh), Rosemarys baby, Scream, Psycho, Suspiria, The Birds

Jase 13,400
My excitement levels for the new Blair Witch movie (especially considering early reviews are so good) are SKY HIGH. The first is one of my favorite all-time films. Today's generation may not appreciate it but seeing a fillm like that for the first time back in 1999 was truly an extremely scary experience. n0ne 13,105
Just watched this film this morning, it was great. Definitely recommend it, especially if like something different; its a mysterious horror drama. I swear indie and arthouse horror and thriller films are the best. NewUsername 11,500
Going of IMDB ratings, I've already seen every good jump scare/haunted house/person movie >2010. Now it's like conforming with less good movies.

Seen numerous horror movies in the 5 star range on IMDb, that were great and I loved. When it comes to horror, I trust Netflix ratings, YouTube comments, and sometimes user comments on rotten tomatoes. "My people… need to let our bitchiness out.
