But yeah, her career so far has been in general a blast, I've been stanning for almost 3 years now and there was never a point in time that I can remember when I said "Her career is **** now". EssenceOfPop 215 Posted July 24, 2016 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Okay so, i have to say that i have a love/hate out-pour with these kind of discussions, they get some backlash negativity from some of her most devoted followers, that seem to forget what Gaga stands for-- but then theres these incredible connecting moments between us, as fans, that are very heart-warming. Whatever though, it gets us discussing. We all have our opinions after all. All in all, i have really adored Gaga's journey through pop culture, she came on the scene like a legit lightning bolt and tore up everyone essence, she caused a ripple with Just Dance and Poker Face, they were so fresh and such bops that it made INSTANT FANS. The Fame is that record that pushed her into our heads and hearts, and legitimately for a debut album having that much quick impact for a DEBUT ARTIST, is astonishing. It was record defining, some stans these days really down play The Fame, they forget and seemingly now misinterpret what it really meant. Iconic. Then, THEN, comes Gaga embracing and exploring more of her artistic ideas and unorthodox thoughts, this is where she truly put her art at the front with The Fame Monster, a cultural masterpiece, through her suffering and fears she was able to make glorifying art with melodies and lyrics otherworldly, concepts and imagery quite petrifying (it was a pretty dark era if you sink yourself into it; Alejandro, Bad Romance, Dance in the Dark.) She took it to a whole new level. So grateful that record and i just adore her commitment to sticking with it and despite what her team may have said about it being too gothic, too artsy, she put up her middle finger and went with it. She hit a career defining peak with the pop culture phenomenon Born This Way, i will continually praise this record until i ultimately perish, i dont care if this sounds pretensions and insincere but this saved MILLIONS of lives, whether it be coming out, embracing who you are as a person, breaking away from suicide, not giving a ****. It is a SOUL-RECORD. It had tons of backlash too but that only added fuel to the celestial fire, it was everywhere, you just couldn't escape from it, and it made even the GP acknowledge Gaga's commitment to the arts and dubbed her a sort of Queen of Weird. Thank you Gaga for this album. It will always be in our hearts. Then came -- i believe -- the emotional collapse, despite great IMPACT success, there was something going on internally that Gaga wouldn't deliberately reveal. but subtly did, she was tried, tired of being told what to do, despite apparent "artistic freedom." I dont care, i do fancy ARTPOP and what it really stands for, the mind behind the machine. Although there is those lowkey tedious "art-contradictions" she just wanted to splatter it all over the scene and push away media, publicity and kinda mainstream abit. It is so underrated but i do appreciate this moment in Gaga's life. She proved that she is a warrior, in soul, in mind and in heart. Cheek To Cheek was the healing process, I'm glad for this moment. She was seeking an elixir and found it by going back to "her roots in music" she was claiming back the pieces to her soul. I could cry when thinking about it honestly omg. 2015-2016 was quiet yet very accomplishing for Gagz, shes turned into a well recognized, but often criticized icon-queen, continuing to push boundaries with what ever she does, there was some truly awe-inspiring moments throughout the last two years. I was SO PROUD. Ultimately, Gaga has wanted to do MANY things that never really got the lime light, whether you deem this as Gaga "lying" or that her management team had a fault in this, it sucks either way. But, yes, i am very happy with her legacy, she is so avant-garde and so chameleon-like, she can adapt to any art-form. She is our Goddess. Through the fire; we're born again. Just saying, performing 2 years in a row at the Academy Awards and getting a standing ovation is a very difficult task. She has an innerent charisma, star power and recognition worldwide.
