There's different ways to interpret exciting music and boring music. I personally find a lot of current (and past) dance music to be bland and lifeless, in lyrics, tune and vocals, yet they've got a fast, uptempo beat and people dance to this in clubs. I'd much rather listen to music with depth and meaning, with good vocals and a mesmerising beat that is different from everything else. A lot of us like Lana because she stirs up our deepest emotions, our sadness and pain. I don't understand why anyone would prefer the remix over the original. The remix sucks all the soul and meaning out of it, drowns out Lana's beautiful voice with that awful generic beat and doesn't seem to appreciate any of her artistry. It was just a cheap gimmick to get her a chart hit and Lana probably hated having her personal song being butchered by a producer who couldn't give a damn about her talent and only cared about a paycheque.
