Miltary Coup in Turkey (NOT successful)

Great news. Looks like the military finally got fed up with 'the Great Dictator'.

"The Turkish military says it is taking over Turkey in order to restore democracy. Modern Turkey was founded by Mustafa Kemal, a general in the Turkish Army who was later formally granted the surname “Ataturk,” or father of the Turks. Ataturk set about an aggressive program of modernizing and “Westernizing” the country, pushing religion to the margins. The military has long seen its role as safeguarding Ataturk’s secularist agenda, and when it worries the government is shifting too far away, it has tended to take action. Already, some analysts are shruggingly embracing the latest coup as a way to rid the country of the increasingly autocratic President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. "

"I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Trump

Shadow

Will this be like the Egyptian coup? Or will civil war break out?

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

If the army doesn't win this it will be the end of any chances of democratic Turkey. Erdogan will come back and become the dictator he wanted to be all along. Sadly it looks like this is what's gonna happen.

Idk much about Turkey to have an opinion. But seems good if they're defending a secular democracy?

But civilians should not be hurt.
