Yeah but I feel like promo is not the solution to her latest album underperforming. Better to have her ARTPOP era now and get it out of the way, then to release album 4 and have everyone not care anymore. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and she has been on the radio nonstop for 3 years now.

The album (and all its singles) got critical acclaim though. Even if she's underperforming, this is not her "ARTPOP era". She also went viral and got acclaim for SNL, and her commercial failures have not even been mentioned by the media as far as I've seen.

No reason to take a break, she's not the kind of artist who is under a lot of scrutiny now. I only think you say she's overexposed because you read a lot about her on this forum, outside of it I don't think her era is getting much notice  

And I mean no, the last radio single was One Last Time, released more than half a year before her first DW era single, Focus. I think her lack of commercial success this era is mostly due to horrendous single picking and choice of overall era visuals tbh.

Her new era is not getting much notice because they can't distinguish that's it even new considering she has been played on the radio continuously for 3 years now. To someone like me (who knows next to nothing about her) all her eras just seem like one long era.

I think that has more to do with the music and the visuals If it was something really fresh and new, I don't think she'd have this much of a commercial decline. Her music video's have been really subpar, and downright boring and uninventive, so that's gonna weigh in.

Agreed about the observation of it seeming like one long era, but yeah, I don't think that has to do with being overexposed, but with not evolving as an artist.
