And that group decided to go up on the bride and block traffic. That's extremely dangerous for everyone involved: people who were protesting, motorists, and the police force that had to go protect these protestors and gently push them back to safety. That was a lot of police officers pulled from the streets to manage a bunch of protestors. The Memphis police department is already severely understaffed. The officers they do have need to be on the streets and going to emergency situations...not spending time trying to herd protestors off of a bridge!
