Britney also was a singles artist after 2002 so declining album sales are a messy metric to scream decline at. Look at her singles numbers which actually remained impressive until 2012. Also great considering the "impressive until 2012" is something you can't say about GaGa's single performance :poot:

What is this excuse ? We compare the eras as whole. That means we should bring even tour sales as the factor of how big the era was.

But it did worse still. Since no matter of past sales it failed to fight its way to the top of the charts and peaked only #9.

Britney was still recovering from a radio ban in the us at the time

Still not sold more than BTW and sales is the only thing that actually matters. But I dont want to really argue here, this wasnt meant as Gaga vs Britney thread.

Toxic was never released as a cd single in the US, any of its sales would be from after her music was put on digital download services which was after the single era ended so it really isn't a fair comparison

Gaga's biggest tour adjusted for inflation: $239m for 203 shows= $1.17m/show

Britney's biggest tour adjusted for inflation: $145m for 96 shows= $1.51m/show

You don't make more money per show unless there's more demand for your tickets ;)

I would believe Billboard than these twitter insiders. Has Katy even mentioned working on new album ? No teasing, no pics of studio work, nothing...

She didnt tease prism too. She only posted one promo picture last august so...

Its so much easier to gross more money for one show if u have only 96 shows to fulfill.

That's not how touring works :emma:

Why not ? If gaga held only 90 shows only in capital cities across NA and Europe. Her attendance would be high and she would gross more for one show.

That is. If Gaga would do 10 shows (one in every major country) and put the prize of like $500 for every ticket, do you think she would not sell out arenas? Of course she would, cause fans from other cities would come anyway and pay whatever the price is

Then how you think it should be judged? It seems there no fair way to compare the tours.

Compare Gaga´s 93 highest shows from the tour with those Britney´s 93. :emma:

GaGa's 3 MSG concerts = 45k attendees

Britney's 3 MSG concerts = 53k attendees

GaGa's 2 Staples Center concerts = 29k attendees

Britney's 2 Staples Center concerts = 33k attendees

You're both assuming GaGa performed as well or better in the major markets as Britney did. She didn't.

I don't feel like it, so I'll concede touring to Gaga.

Which tours are these comparing?
