Do you not understand how this works? The convention is in two weeks and the more distant Bernie appears the more contrived his support will eventually be when it's needed. Him staying won't influence the outcome towards his goals. However him staying has a definite detriment on the outcome of Hillary's, the one that is definitely winning the nomination and the one that will be fighting Trump for the presidency. His platform will have no influence in the convention. Hillary has won a complete majority. She's going to win on the first ballot. There will be no contest. He will not be able to influence the already released Democratic party's stances nor will Hillary bend to his will. Him staying serves nothing other than assuaging the pride of him and his constituency. The longer he remains distant and the more he refuses to display cooperation, the less time there is to unite the party. I don't hate Bernie. He's just pissing me off. Perhaps he'll prove me wrong and be even better than Obama in uniting support behind Hillary after the convention. That's the hope. However his history is not making that hope likely.
