Just because they are black does not mean they're not also gay !   And the organizers agreed completely !

Except they didn't. They signed the papers so they could have their parade back.

it's on loop in our news here--the pride org wanted to make it clear that they didnt want to exclude cops, especially LGBTQ cops. They literally interviewed torontonians who even say it's counterproductive and that safety is needed anyway

Are you serious? I'm not condoning what they did, because it was clearly wrong, but you cannot label every member of the BLM as a "degenerate thug", that's just pure racial profiling.

The BLM is, at it's core, a positive movement. This isn't say, the black version of the KKK, they have valid arguments and their issues are just as important as those of people of the LGBTQ+ community. Yes, there are people who go overboard and go outrageous things, but that does not mean that you can generalize an entire movement like that.

I'm 100% serious. How the **** is this racial profiling? There are plenty of white people and other races apart of BLM, unfortunately. And second of all, you don't know my race.

Black Lives Matter is a thug movement. They have done nothing this month other than hijack vigil after vigil for the Orlando victims, to hijacking gay pride events in the US and Canada just to prompt their agenda that has only heightened racial tension. Black Lives Matter is the scum of the Earth.

The only other group with the audacity to hijack the Orlando shooting victims vigil/funeral was the West Boroh Baptist Church. BLM activists can rot in hell right next to them for all I care.

They're not stopping another movement; these people are gay black people wanting to be more included in the gay festivities.  That's literally it.  Just because they are black does not mean they're not also gay !   And the organizers agreed completely !   They were working together, exactly as you wish !

Like !!!!!!!!!!!  It's that simple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There is nothing to misunderstand !!!!!! I'm not black; I'm latino, and even then their wants are plain and simple to me.  If I can understand it easily, the rest of you can to, but people aren't letting themselves understand it because people on this site immediately jump to the worst conclusions and start being lowkey aggressive when threads like this pop up (not pointing that to you specifically, but there's many people on this site that do that).  The face of gay people / gay rights in this country is incredibly white, and there's a lot of homophobia in the black community.  Gay black people need more space in things like pride, and the organizers agreed with this and gave them the space they needed.

The only bad thing that happened concerning BLM recently is when that girl got up to speak at the Pulse vigil and started talking **** about the white people not coming to their BLM meetings but coming to a gay meeting instead; she was completely out of line especially considering why everyone was there.  However, the other couple of "incidents" posted on these forums have been completely harmless yet people got so worked up over nothing.

They "completely agreed" because these low life thugs used bully tactics to completely STOP a gay pride event. Are you mental?

Another day another predicable cry for attention by a laughable movement. They need to get over themselves. No police cars in the parade? More anti police crap?  Lol, good luck defending yourselves next time some psycho comes looking for blood. Truly so embarrassing. So glad gay rights movements have never been this bitchy, extra, or needy.

Please be more respectful when discussing this. It's clearly a sensitive issue and the last thing we need in this thread is people calling others "mental" or sarcastically calling people "genius".

Or constantly mentioning "the racist white gays on GagaDaily".

I wish the black community would sort this out... These are the only headlines I ever see regarding civil rights. This only gives folks a reason to look down at any type of movement for the black community.

And tbh, I was 100% onboard with her demands about adding more people of color into the Toronto Pride event planning (or whatever). But then they have to go and throw a goddamn hissy and demand that NO policemen be allowed back into the event? What in the literal fck? Look,I get police brutality is a thing. But come on, driving a nail between the two groups doesn't solve anything. Alas, these people don't want change. I am so over this all cops deserve to be punished because of the actions of a few. They're judging an entire subset of people just like they themselves are judged. That doesn't sit right with me. Until they change their tactics, they will continue to garner ZERO respect from me.

These people say not to judge all BLM people by the actions of a few, yet they think all police are bad due to the actions of a few of them. :green:

Well, at least it turns out to be ok, but yeah... A little bit of extra maybe.....

waiting for people to generalize the entire BLM movement:interestinga:

The BLM leaders do the exact same thing and they all justified these kind of actions

Girl, I don't know if you know much about the early gay rights movement but in a lot of ways it was more extreme than BLM. While BLM supporters now protest and highjack events demanding protection for the POC losing their lives gay rights activists in the past used the exact same tactics during the HIV/AIDS crisis.

In response to the sentiment that those in power didn't believe gay lives mattered they protested in the streets, they printed very graphic posters, they hijacked events rushing to the podium to shout about the AIDS crisis. They acted in the very same way as BLM protesters for a very similar reason, to make it clear that their lives mattered and to continue to put pressure at people on EVERY level (even those that publicly said they supported the gay community). They even crashed AIDS conferences (who you would assume, were far more progressive on the issue than the norm) and protested because they were not doing enough.

I mean... Look at these thugs right? :wtf:

I get the BLM protestors here might be shocking for some, and it's clearly uncomfortable for some but clearly Toronto Pride don't feel the same way and good for them :applause:

They are just asking for better representation in leadership roles (and other roles) of Black trans women, black queer people and indigenous folk. I don't think it's a bad thing that these QUEER black activists are demanding more visibility and tolerance within the LGBTQ community.

The only reason these people are allowed to do this and act this way is because people are scared of being accused of racism and these people know it so they ask for demands and everyone says yes!
