1) The couple he ran over didn't die.

2) The perpetrator was drunk. I highly doubt he had specific intentions to run over LGBT people to make this an example of the types of crime you mention.

JUST because he's a drag queen, most people here aren't taking this seriously. Imagine if it was another muslim guy.  The posts would have been like "DISGUSTING. This is sick. Clearly a hate crime. etc. etc." without a second thought, even if it was for some other reason. 

Or the fact that two people were seriously injured but no, let's make references to a cartoon or joke about the guy's wig. Hilarious.

You can denounce an awful wig and still feel bad these innocent people were injured - these are not mutually exclusive concepts. What is it, you think I cheered in celebration at reading the news?

Also, if any drunk person, Muslim or otherwise, happened to run over someone who was LGBT, my first inclination would not be to think the intent was to commit a hate crime.

I didn't (obviously), I just felt that it's not the time nor the place to be funny or light-hearted. This isn't a thread with the 'Funny' tag on it but judging by the replies you'd think it was one. You did acknowledge the injuries of the victims but not everyone did the same.

But anyway, I'm not pressed about it. I just said what I had to say.
