Ugh. Some of you guys worry about the wrong thing. At it the end of the day it's music. Enjoy it or kick rocks. People argue so much about little things on here.

She can show off some vocal talent but dear lord what a horribly written and produced song.

I like it because it sounds like every other Sia song and nothing more.

why does she always sound like a less-talented Sia when Sia writes for her?

Rihanna has been singing like that for years. Her voice has grown and progressed since she started at 16. Do Sia and her sound alike? Yes, but if you listen to the progression of her voice from Rated-R then TTT and finally Unapologetic. Songs like Te Amo, Hard, MadHouse, Wait is Over, all have parts where she sounds like she did in Diamonds. She didn't go from SOS to Diamonds overnight. She has hit all those notes and tones before.

Where as Sia never spoke with a carribean accent, but decided to dawn one on Chandelier.

Anyways none of this matters. Next Year Sia and Rihanna will be collecting their Oscars.

When you listen to Diamonds you can clearly hear Rihanna emulating Sia's throaty vocals, her fast vibrato, her occasional mumble and in some live performances (of Diamonds) Rihanna even lets her voice crack the same way Sia does.

But "Sia sounds like Rihanna" because her accent bears a faint resemblance to Rihanna's "Caribbean accent" which to a certain extent has been there at least since Titanium (?).

I don't see why you're denying facts, both Diamonds and Sledgehammer are heavily influenced by Sia's vocal technique. Rihanna's discography is diverse, because she doesn't have a specific sound, it varies depending on the people writing/producing her songs. But that shouldn't even be a point of criticism, not every singer can adapt to different sounds and styles as effortlessly as Rihanna.

I like her vocals, but at the same time, they are very Sia-like. Either way, I like the song.

It sounds like a reject from This Is Acting. I thought Rihanna was beyond these little quick generic hits for GP, but I guess anything for relevance.

You need to go and listen to Rihanna's discography especially since you think she copied Sia on Diamonds that was typical Rihanna :toofunny:

I've listened to both Rihanna's and Sia's discography, I'm not sure you've done the latter. Anyway, you're not adding anything new to the discussion and I can't really expect you to be unbiased, ever since you claimed Work deserved to win VOTY at the BET, instead of Formation, so I won't bother to reiterate my point.
