Really? That's interesting. 

From my personal experience I've noticed Latinos who's families have been here in the US longer tend to have the accent of the region more than the first generation people like myself. 

I know this girl who's family came here from Mexico back in the 1930's and she doesn't speak Spanish and her southern accent is very noticeable. 

I've been told that I don't have a particular accent (or at least not noticeable) in either language. I like the mystery. No one knows what region from the US I'm from and in Spanish they can't tell my heritage that easily :cool:

I don't have a noticeable accent myself. One thing I do is elongate vowels a little more but that's about it. 

Some people thought I come from Sicilian immigrants before they found out I was Lebanese :rip:

Although sometimes for fun I bring out the "typical" Middle Eastern accent to troll people.
