NI hasn't even discussed it, it was said as a hypothetical comment. After the dramatic drop of the £ and the FTSE both are now on the up an are better than they have been at some points throughout this year - not bad for our first day of freedom I'd say. Unsure of what territory we've lost to Spain? In actual fact the likelihood is that we are going to be taking back our fishing water from Spain. Gibraltar is UK territory, Spain has demanded joint rule, but we are under no obligation to comply with that demand and if we reach somewhat of a 'free movement' deal there would be no requisite for joint control of Gibraltar. It's been two days, discussions have not occurred and we have not even officially applied to exit the European Union and therefore, there is no way that the UK would allow joint control of Gibraltar because there is no need to at this point. They're the reason we don't have gay marriage (despite it passing with a majority of the assembly) or until a few months ago, gay people had a lifetime ban on donating blood (Sinn Fein revoked that upon taking the health minister post) and (b) as proven by the disconnect between what Northern Ireland wanted (even moreso if you include the Nationalists that didn't vote) and what the secretary of state wants. Sinn Fein's 'hypothetical' comments are the status quo for them, but very much a part of their agenda. Absolutely no chance of Irish reunification at this point, but Scotland's decision could be very tight and i'd assume the SNP know exactly what they're doing; they're clearly the only unified and capable political party in the entirety of the UK - they won't have the referendum until they're sure they'll win. To say 'First day of freedom' is a huge exaggeration; it's at least two and a half years before the UK will be distinct from the EU and the actual extent of that is still to be determined, EEA treaty adherence could still be very much on the cards. Which is exactly what I'm saying and the only way that they can be sure of winning is if the Conservative party is reelected in 2020. The UK has already felt the effect of the decision regardless of the paperwork and therefore my comment about freedom was concerned with that fact. You may think it's Spains right, but that's not the point. The UK have absolutely no duty to comply with such demands, and as I'm sure you're aware (refer the the Falklands) we do not give up our territory easily and definitely not simply at the request of another nation.
