Why bother having a district of just over 5000 votes?

If you're referring to the City of London, it's always been a historical anomaly for all sorts of purposes. They even have their own police force whereas the rest of London is covered by the Met. police. In other cases it's usually just for geographical reasons re: Gibraltar and the various Scottish islands.

Inversely though, I'm interested to know why Birmingham has over 700,000 in their count and hasn't been broken up into smaller areas

Why don't they deserve it though? :emma:

If it's for historical reasons, the UK has done awful things too so. You're forgetting for example the British army open fired and killed innocent people in Northern Ireland fighting for civil rights and that was only in 1972.

That's only a tiny example of what the UK has done to Ireland and doesn't even touch the things the British empire has done to so much of the world.

I just don't believe anyone should be told what to do by Germany when we all fought to not be under their control.

I'm not saying the UK deserves to tell everyone what to do either, I'm just saying Germany doesn't.

Is there any significant effect on the United States if the United Kingdom does indeed exit?

We'll be best buds again if Trump wins. Unsure what'll happen under Hilary.

How much percentage of the polling places have been counted?

It's not possible only 1+ million so far are gonna decide the fate of 64 million :rip:

EDIT: Nvm, I see this is only the beginning.

May be a stupid question, but are oversea territories voting as well?

Gibraltar was, the others weren't (although I don't even know if they count as being in the EU)
