Germany and France are the most important members. They created the ECSC(/EEC/EU) without the UK.

I hope Leave will win because the United Kingdom is hurting the european construction. The country has been blackmailing other governments for decades, asking for more and more privileges and preventing from an ambitious and more integrated construction. It's unfair and it's not the aim of the Union. If they don't get that, of course they can go out. But don't expect to come back in the future...

Just keep in mind the UK refused to be a charter member of the EU but changed its mind a few years after and France vetoed the adhesion. Then in 1975, a first referendum took place and 67% voted to remain. Not to mention the United Kingdom will probably implode because Scotland will want to reintegrate the EU. Brexit won't be the end of the EU but the end of the UK. And the end of the mess of the UK membership.

You're the first member who thinks like me.

I'm glad people in UK can decide about their future :D It's so different in another countries... even in the democratic countries where referendums should be all the time! I'm from Spain and honestly I don't care if UK leave or not. It's their choice :fthis:

I hope Britain doesn't  leave, for its own sake.

Ive looked at the arguments for leaving and they made little sense.

Anyway it's still their decision.

I hate how extremists play so easy with nationalistic feelings. They have zero arguments for leaving EU and the timing is the worst. EU has enogh problems already.

If they get out the EU is pretty much over imo. The UK is its prime and most important member.

Germany and France are.

Maybe it opens a new future Europe which is more integrated and close :flutter:

brexit would be best that could happen to europe. Also just to see all those euro-haters being proved wrong

They don't want immigrants. Immigration is easy for EU as it doesn't require a visa - if they leave it will and that makes it harder. Here's why that doesn't hold up in 3 simple points though...

1) Immigrants are proven to be beneficial to the economy.

2) By leaving the EU the healthcare system will lose a lot of really good doctors that are there because of EU benefits.

3) By leaving they give up their decision making power in the EU but will still have to abide by the EU regulations.

Basically, they are going to lose any and all power they have over the EU and then still be forced to follow EU regulations after they leave all because some people want less immigrants. There's actually probably going to be a large global recession if they leave because trade in that region will be so incredibly screwed over.

So the apple doesn't fall far from the tree if you shake it hard enough :smh:

Thanks :yay:

I think Remain will win tho. People realize they are better in than out... If they leave, they won't be able to come back. It's too risky. If they stay, they will keep on criticizing and destructing the Union from the inside. The Union will stay the scapegoat of the populists and irresponsable politicians. They win on all levels. :rip:

I think all countries should have equal opportunities to immigrate, I don't see why Easter European countries have preferential treatment. However I'm going to vote to remain because the economy isn't in a position where burning bridges with these nations is feasible or realistic.
