Harry 26,836 Posted June 22, 2016 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I don't know the ins and outs of this act that they're trying to stop so my opinion isn't 100% well informed, but I think very few people here do actually know what they're talking about regarding this so I guess I'll add my two cents anyway. I support the artists and their right to do this. It's their product, their art, and they have a right to choose how it is used. I don't give a damn how rich they are. Particularly if popular channels use copyrighted material and get good money from posting to YouTube while the artist whose music they are using sees nothing from that. HOWEVER it does indeed seem ridiculous and extreme to me to completely ban the use of it because things like reaction videos will be impossible... I think a middle ground needs to be found and agreed upon. I don't know if there's a better way for artists to get paid, but neither the current situation nor the artist's proposal seem good to me.
