So what? She's right to fight for artists, they've been ****ed by streaming services for far too long. If you were in her situation, even tho you'd been already a millionaire, I sure bet you would be fighting for every penny that other people would be making on your back, and rightfully so.

Oh, I'd let them, I'm not that kind of person anyway. If I was her I'd focus on releasing good music and focus on tours. Look at Beyoncé.

I think we can arguably say Taylor has delivered both. And it's always easier to speak when the money's not in your pocket ;)

In B4 she talks about how this is all about indie artists as well. Fake corporate slime.

I'm not an expert on this subject....but...

I have some friends who post a lot of YouTube content, and I post a little YouTube content myself, and it's just ridiculous how many videos of ours that YouTube taken down because we sampled even so much as a snippet of a song, even a remixed or whatever!

It feels to me that YouTube is already overly aggressive when then protect an artists rights by deleting videos that aren't costing the artist a PENNY, and I'm not making a PENNY from my views!  Nobody is going to skip buying the song "New Romantics" just because I posted a video that had 30 seconds of poor quality audio from that song, and yet YouTube deleted my video!!

YouTube is super aggressive about deleting copyrighted content.  What else do they want?  I don't understand.  Can anyone explain!?!?

She's fighting the wrong people. The real issue is with the big mafias we call labels, not YouTube or Spotify.

Literally Taylor is just one of MANY artists/record execs that signed this. Why does she have to be the one "leading" this "war" when she didn't even start or write this open letter.

People are using her just as a target these days and it's so annoying. Get a damn life.

That is interesting.  It seems to be the fault of this article, because it says "Swift, flanked by artists like U2, Paul McCartney, Vince Staples, and the Kings of Leon..."

When you use the phrase "flanked by" it definitely implies that Taylor is in the lead on this issue while U2 and Paul McCartney are in the background. :toofunny:    But if they all signed it, that doesn't mean Taylor is really taking the lead here.

Everyone is using Taylor's name these days for clicks. People either really love Taylor or really hate Taylor, so regardless of what the article's content actually is, people are bound to click the link if it paints Taylor in a negative light.

She doesn't work for free. Far from it. She loses very little money from illegal downloading because most of it is made through endorsements, record deals, & concerts. Taylor Swift is upset because there's a tiny bit less change in her account. This is why Gaga has encouraged illegal downloading in the past! It doesn't really matter all that much unless you want to make things harder for fans just so you're a bit wealthier.

At the end of the day, I don't care if it's a dollar being taken from my check I want it. Taylor Swift is right to want to get ALL of her earnings from her job. She's not doing it for herself she's doing it for other artist as well even if she was it's her job and she deserves every penny like I said. No one deserves to be robbed of a penny. Plus, Lady Gaga did not seem so happy about illegal downloading when it came to Applause.

I'm sure she able to focus on more than one issue at a time...
