Yeah. It was massive her short peak. She could of kept it going but shes always come across to me as a little lazy and just doesnt try :air:

Gaga was also a once in a generation peak but a little different from adeles but not any less impressive

albums wise not quite as high as Adele. But she had hit after hit, massive youtube views (for the time it was in), big media buzz, tones if awards and big tours

Gaga dominates every category 2009-2011 and dominating every category is rare

Not quite as high? :chica: 21 alone sold 5 million copies more than Gaga's entire discography.

In terms of views she obviously wins too, she has 600 million more (even though her success only started really taking off in 2011, which gave her less time than Gaga to build up an impressive amount).

Gaga did win a lot of awards but honestly, half of those are like meaningless internet poll based ****. When it comes down to the actual valuable ones, Adele clearly wins. She has more Grammy's, more Billboard awards, more American Music Awards (auch), more BRIT awards, and on top of that an Oscar.

When-Your-BFF-Tells-You-She-Pregnant-You

Tour wise her current one is averaging 2.2 million a night, which is more than any Gaga tour average, and in any case Adele's 25 tour will outgross any tour Gaga has ever done, so..

So what do we have left?

Amount of Google searches perhaps?

https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=Adele, Lady Gaga&cmpt=q&tz=Etc/GMT-3

I do believe that graphic says it all.

Not doing this to put down Gaga (I couldn't care less about commercial success and award ****) but anyone pretending like she is higher up than Adele in the context of this thread is just.. apesh-t :poot:

Just Dance, Poker Face and Love Game lost tones of views tho

Poker Face and Just Dance would of gotten tones of views had it been just a few years later. Not only did videos start getting more, but videos before Vevo got split as different accounts posted them and were never fully combined

Anyways Im not doubting Adele

im merely saying Gaga was once in a generation peak also. She had hit after hit and created more buzz at her peak than anyone i remember

The question is how many of our artists will have their career last another 10 years? I see Troye, Alessia, and 21 Pilots getting huge.

Well Beyoncé has had just about 20 and is arguably bigger than ever, so I'm guessing she'll be fine. Adele will continue to sell like crazy, and Gaga has now earned the respect that she has never had before, so she will last the test of time too. I think their good.

Troye yes I see him getting big, but not Alessia. 21 Pilots I see being a lot like Green Day level success so they'll be fine.

When you think if the biggest artists of the last decade (2006-2016) who do you think had the most success over-all that define this last decade?

My List Is:

Lady Gaga

Justin Bieber

Katy Perry

Rihanna

Taylor Swift

Those are the 5 biggest i think. I almost put Eminem, Beyonce & Britney Spears but much of their success was before 2006 :neyde:

False, much of Britney's success was after 2006, in 2008, she earned her second #1, in 2009, her third #1 and in 2011 her fourth & fifth #1.

1. Adele (21 is the biggest era ever for a woman and it was released in 2011. 25 is the second biggest selling album of the decade only behind 21. She's completely dominated trends in music (bringing a wave of indie, slow pop to the charts replacing dance pop). She's dominated pop culture (Hello was a huge phenomenon and is known be everyone.) Her only tour is going to be one of the biggest tours of the decade.)

2. Rihanna (GGGB, Loud, Talk That Talk and Unapologetic were huge year dominating eras. Her digital success has become unmatched as a woman and her Diamonds World Tour was huge. Her impact on pop culture was huge this decade also <Red hair, fashion lines with River Island, Vevo views and spotify plays>. More BB number hits in the last 10 years than anyone male or female.)

3. Lady Gaga (Her global domination from 2009-2011 is only matched by Britney in her peak. Everyone still remembers what it was like when Gaga was the forefront of pop. She changed what the most popular music trends were like Adele from RnB to Dance Pop and Electronic Music. She brought back the craziness of redcarpet outfits and her peers all copied her after. The Fame/Monster was huge and Born This Way carried her momentum. If only ARTPOP didn't let down :/)

4. Katy Perry (Huge album and singles sales and has been in the spotlight since her debut and has never fell off)

5. Justin Bieber. (The only male I think that could compete in success with the others globally. Like Gaga, was a huge phenomenon and staple of 2010-2012. He was able to cross over from a kid star to an acclaimed, Grammy winning adult artist. Huge pop culture capital, has had many imitators without success and impacted people every day life <the bieber haircut that everyone had, singing Baby). He's only gotten bigger in 2015 and became an even bigger social media/ digital selling force with his comeback and the GP fell in love with him again.

HM:

Taylor Swift (While she has had global hits before 1989 <You Belong With Me, IKYWT, 22>, her first global album and single domination was in 2014 which is not enough.)

Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana was huge and the albums were also huge with kids. Bangerz made her even bigger.)

Ariana Grande (She's been known to kids/teenagers since Victorious and ME is/was the most streamed album by a female on Spotify. Most of her singles have been huge global smashes and her albums have sold considerable well considering who she's selling to and that she debuted after the sales decline begun. Even though she's the newest artist compared to the other pop girls, she's had huge pop culture moments <her pony tail being talked about world wide, the Mariah comparisons> )

1. Beyonce

2. Lady Gaga

4. Rihanna

4. Adele

 5. Justin Bieber

6. Taylor Swift

7. Katy Perry

8. Bruno Mars

9. One Direction

People overestimate Katy's influence in Pop culture. You can say whatever you want about Gaga but her name alone is massive in Pop culture of the last decade.
