Tbh whether or not a film or actor gets nominated for an award does not depend on whether or not it is a remake but on the quality. I don't think the Oscars are that rigid to say oh hey it's a remake you're automatically thrown out of our consideration.

The attitude problem is with this immature fanbase, not Gaga. Not true at all, i am a Huge AHS fan since 2011 and was delighted that she starred in it,I'm even more excited that shes going to be in the next one. If she had said LG5 may happen in a 5 year time frame - fine just say that. But when you keep changing your mind and doing random as **** **** its really annoying. A second Jazz Album when she said LG5 was coming this year is ridiculous! Ofc its natural to be frustrated re: the red one stuff that has happened too - Ive actually been off here the past 5 months so not sure what your on about, she needs to be realistic and not promise things. id wait 5 years for a gaga album for sure. She shouldn't don't go posting LG5 tags all last year saying its coming soon
ToxicHot 6,444
Are you all forgetting that the Born This Way Ball didn't kick off until nearly a year after the album was released? And artRave began five months after ARTPOP. I'm sure she'll have time to do AHS and ASIB amidst the LG5 era as well.... We haven't even gotten ANY information regarding LG5's release (as we all already know). The tour will definitely have to start after the film is completed. I just hope this doesn't mean the LG5 era will be a short one (besides the tour). Then again, we all know how unpredictable she is.... At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the album didn't come until 2017. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!

"there is not enough talent or acting skills that can save this from flopping hard" You must've read the script, seen the screen tests and know the cinematographer /sarcasm. Yes, remakes generally don't do well, but it's not a given. This is the 4th remake but it's no where near Great Gatsby or Romeo and Juliette levels. It's been 40 years since the last remake which is double the time apart between any of the previous films. This generation doesn't know the story or the music. "do you know of a successful remake of anything.... specialy from a new director" Plenty of re-makes can do well and enough have been considered better than their originals, like the second remake of A Star is Born. Lots of classic movies are directorial debuts, such as Citizen Kane, Easy Rider or Blood Simple. Ben Affleck's directorial debut is better than anything else he's ever acted in. Give it a damn chance. "even beyonce said "i'll pass" TWICE" Does that really mean anything? Besides being busy with 2 albums, stadium shows and a young daughter, she's not a good actress. Maybe she has self-awareness and doesn't want to land on her face while she's on top in her music career. And Beyonce said yes to Austin Powers, The Pink Panther and gave a terrible performance in Obsessed. I don't think we should be using Beyonce's approval as a metric for success. "if this flops her movie career will not do well" No shlt, Sherlock. No actor has all of the resources to tell them that their next project will be a success. All Gaga has to do is what she always does and put in her best effort. She's in a better position than many actors because of her level of celebrity. Any producer would be an idiot to not make room for Gaga. And actors build their careers back up all the time - their careers will always have ups and downs or slow starts. "Clint Eastwood gave up directing it" Clint Eastwood is 86 YEARS OLD. HE'S TIRED. His filmography as a director is quite good, so I highly doubt he would have tried to get this film made if he didn't like it and believe in it. "Every lead actor also turned down" Not true. There have been rumours but nothing substantial. When Clint was working with Bradley Cooper he offered it to him without any hindrance or call for a screen test. He's been attached ever since. And there are plenty of reasons for an actor to turn down a role besides it being not good enough. ----- Don't pretend to be an expert when we literally no nothing of any pertinence besides the fact that Bradley Cooper is directing and Gaga is starring. I understand that the EGOT talk on here and the huge expectations are annoying, but you're really selling both Gaga and this film far too short. Is there a big risk? Sure, but big risks have big rewards and this is a great opportunity for Gaga to shine. Even if it's not a critical success, a good performance and decent box office numbers can keep momentum going for Gaga's (very young) acting career. SpaceAce 1,058
I just looked at some of Warner Bros. 60+ million dollar budget films and except for one, they've all been successful at the box office. This shows that they have faith this movie will do well in this aspect. All of their 60+ million dollar budget films: "Gangster Squad" earned 104 m worldwide - 64 m above its budget. "Trouble with the Curve" is the outlier, it lost money and earned 13 m below the budget "Contagion" earned 137 m - 77 m above its budget. "Body of Lies" earned 118 m worldwide - 52 m above its budget. "Starsky and Hutch" earned 170 m worldwide - 110 above its budget "Space Cowboys" earned 128 m worldwide - 63 m above its budget "Any given Sunday" earned 100 m worldwide and 40 m above its budget "You’ve got mail" earned 250 m worldwide and 190 m above its budget Excluding "Trouble With the Curve" and "You've Got Mail" (since it was a unique success), their 60 m budget films earn about 80 m. That means success, regardless of the critics.

She's starring in American Horror Story and has been nominates for an Oscar before, we know that she almost got it. You should not assess what she has yet to accomplish but what she HAS accomplished. AHS, movie soundtracks and roles like this with actors like Bradley Cooper are all potential. Does the notion still sound far-fetched to you? It is not trying and laziness that are despicable. At least Gaga is working. I didnt mean to sound negative or anything, but you do realise dozens of actors/entertainers are nominated every year too and still EGOT is quite a reclusive group. Im not in anyway saying she doesnt have potential for it but its not going to happen next year. Thats all. So its a bit silly talk when you think other nominees too... But yeah, it's possible in the future.
