Shadow 6,631
There are no such thing as entitlements in nature. Everyone and everything living is fighting to survive in a world of limited resources. Any platitudes humans come up with are spoken or unspoken social contracts, that people either compromise to be in harmony with a certain culture or they oppose it and be in jeopardy until society conforms and compromises for what you or anyone fought for to be recognized and garner substantial respect. The LGBT or other minorities' fight for equality is a good example. No one really gets a free ride, even with nature. Ask any parents who had a stillborn or lost their child to disease or worse. Life is fragile but it fights for itself. Do your own research.

Not disagreeing, but going a step further from what she was saying to dismiss entitlements. Who governs who gets entitled or not? People who go around thinking they deserved something probably forgot how our ancestors had to fight for scraps and were lucky to meet their needs. It also automatically puts those being "served rights" a dependency to those who "serve," thus making them vulnerable if they are put to the test to figure it out on their own. However, with that being said, I highly value life in its many forms and respect its continued existence. Life is a gift of probability and I'm thankful of the chance to live. There is no guarantee I get to keep it tomorrow, so I treasure it while the day is good. You could say "I deserve to live and be happy" or you could say you value those things and work to earn their preservation and improvement because that is your need and desire. Do your own research. LIFE" would have better better. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back
