Maybe the peaceful ones should form a group under a different name. :awkney:

All of them are peaceful. Just because I say I am part of the organization Black Lives Matter does not mean I am. How about little monsters who are less than smart separate from the pact as well? Pure ignorance. Just like the one muslim does not represent all muslims, this one black chick who probably isn't actually officially affiliated with Black Lives Matter does not represent the same.

She's just selfish. She doesn't represent the BLM movement in any way shape or form.

However, just a reminder to the white people who are salty:

You cannot be racist to a white person. You can be prejudiced, but not racist. White people have never been suppressed as a racial group.

EDIT: and also, please don't say "All Lives Matter." It's incredibly disrespectful. The reason why the movement is called what it is is to show that racism is still alive and is being suppressed. When people say "All Lives Matter," it's another way suppressing the actual issue.

White people have never been suppressed as a racial group? I think the Irish might disagree with you. Even if we set aside "The Famine" which fits the legal definition of genocide...

I'm fairly certain the thousands of Irish slaves shipped to America by King James II would disagree with you. The thousands of Irish slaves Oliver Cromwell bound and took to the Caribbean might also disagree with you. The hundred thousand Irish children taken from their parents in the 1600's and sold as slaves in the West Indies might disagree with you. The African slaves who revolted along side the Irish slaves in Barbados, might defend their pale brothers against that little bit of history Social Justice Warriors like yourself want to sweep under the rug in the name of preserving the Great Pyramid of Oppression. Now even if you want to dismiss the Irish slave trade as "indentured servitude" - which would be obscene, as the difference between the two was marginal at the time - the discrimination that followed them into the 1800's surely is an example of, as you said, "a racial group being suppressed:"

Ya'll saying you can't be racist to a white person would be very interested in looking at the racial tensions in South Africa right now :emma:

Anyway, this woman is just preaching her message at the wrong time, save it for the appropriate time, this is not it.

That apparently doesn't count 'cause they were being oppressed by white people. It wasn't racial oppression, it was class/national warfare or something. You know, 'cause all people who are the same color have the same culture, the same background, the same nationality, etc etc :emma:

Spoiler

I tried bringing up the same point a while back on facebook and got so much sh*t for it :madge:

You said "you can't be racist against a white person."

The definition of racism is as follows; the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

In response I showed you political cartoons depicting Irish Americans as animals, specifically monkeys. The illustrator of that cartoon is imply the Irish are an inferior subhuman race. That is an example of racial discrimination against a race which is consider to be "white."

So your statement that "you can't be racist against a white person" is factually incorrect, as I have provided you with a clear example proving otherwise.

"That's cool but White people haven't been suppressed as a whole race."

Race is a social construct without any real biological or genetic meaning. So I'm confused about what you are implying here. Are you suggesting that we ought to dismiss historical accounts of white ethnic groups being repressed because the "white race" as a whole has not been suppressed?

Ignoring a post that contains facts which challenge your set-in-stone world view in favor of 'YASS GIRL'ing someone who already agrees with you? Social Justice Warrior movement in a nut shell.

Because living in an echo chamber so much easier.

Irish people were not always white and they also oppressed people in there own country called Irish Travellers just thought I'd add that in there

And the notion that white people cannot be racist is simple. Minorities can use their words, but if white people wanted to they could oppress minorities more so in the past than as a race as whole do today. The word racism and racist were created because of what white were doing and probably would not be even a word if it was not for they're doing in the past. I no longer agree with this notion, but that's what people are talking about actual oppression over being called a few names. White people can keep people from so much! Minorities cannot! The end. It is how it is, but does not keep me from doing the damn thing. It does not take it to be white or a minority to understand, but generally minorities hold this view and whites hold a different view. A lot of things in the world remain to be fixed.

That isn't entirely true. It's obviously more complex then just saying they were not always white. If we are using the modern definition of Caucasian (white-skinned; of European origin), there is no question the Irish were always white. But because race is really just a social construct, it is important to look at the way the Irish were viewed in a historical context. They were nicked named the "white-negro" which implies that they fell into a racial grey area, but were regarded as "white." I believe it was sometime after the Civil War when the "whiteness" or Irish Americans was accepted socially.

But this is semantics. When someone says "you can't be racist against white people" - that is a factually incorrect statement .
