Rolodex of Hate 1,761 Posted June 13, 2016 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I've been saying this since 2014. Everyone disagreed with me, but now I think my opinion is becoming more and more likely. She has recently been stating that Gaga is actually just a character/only a small part of her. We know that she's now going to change and not be this big pop star like Lady Gaga was - for me, it would be weird for her to still be Gaga now that she has basically admitted Gaga is just a character even after all those years of trying to convince everyone that Stefani IS Gaga. Also, there was a source at the time (I'll find it if I can) who said that they'd been in one of her meetings, in which she would apparently stop being Gaga after the ARTPOP era and change her name to Stefani. I also feel that with this new musical direction, it would be weird to be called Gaga if it's not a pop record like we'd expect. Certainly her stripped-back looks of late make her seem not at all like Gaga and MUCH more like Stefani. So shoot me stans, I'm sticking by what I've said since 2014 about the name change to Stefani. We're watching you Stef Edit- if anything, I think she'll just experiment with the Lady Gaga persona and image and maybe bring more Stefani into it? REALITY 76,270 Posted June 13, 2016 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I don't think she'd drop "Lady Gaga" at all. While she's bringing more of "Stefani" into "Gaga", she still is Lady Gaga. While Gaga was at first a creation, it's still a huge part of who she is, even if it's just the name, I don't think she'd abandon that. Lady Gaga is her brand and that name can take a lot of credit for her fame. Its so outstanding. If she ditches "Lady Gaga", she would be taking a step backwards and closer to all the basic pop stars out there.
