I'm glad we can agree on this.

How is Hillary supposed to keep us safe when she won't even name our #1 enemy? I don't understand.

Our number one enemy is ourselves. We created ISIS and now we have a presidential candidate (and his followers) just BEGGING to give them the fuel they need to restore the ranks and leaders that've been decimated by tactical operations led by Obama's administration.

The U.S. seems to be on a hate fueled self destructive streak this time around.

Although I don't agree with Trump's policies this is so true.

Why won't he name it what it is? What is he scared of? Hillary Clinton as well.

Radical Islamic terrorism is what occurred today. This has nothing to do with regular Muslims.

Why is that naming of terrorism so important to (some of) you? Are the labels more important than fighting against extremism?

Did no one notice that Trump didn't acknowledge that it was attack on a gay club? Not one word about LGBT community? How is that not bothering any of you?

DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT REGARDING TRAGIC TERRORIST ATTACK IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA

Last night, our nation was attacked by a radical Islamic terrorist. It was the worst terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11, and the second of its kind in 6 months. My deepest sympathy and support goes out to the victims, the wounded, and their families.

In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words 'Radical Islam'. For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words 'Radical Islam' she should get out of this race for the Presidency.

If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can't afford to be politically correct anymore.

The terrorist, Omar Mir Saddique Mateen, is the son of an immigrant from Afghanistan who openly published his support for the Afghanistani Taliban and even tried to run for President of Afghanistan. According to Pew, 99% of people in Afghanistan support oppressive Sharia Law.

We admit more than 100,000 lifetime migrants from the Middle East each year. Since 9/11, hundreds of migrants and their children have been implicated in terrorism in the United States.

Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term – and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.

We need to protect all Americans, of all backgrounds and all beliefs, from Radical Islamic Terrorism - which has no place in an open and tolerant society. Radical Islam advocates hate for women, gays, Jews, Christians and all Americans. I am going to be a President for all Americans, and I am going to protect and defend all Americans. We are going to make America safe again and great again for everyone.

- Donald J. Trump

Idgi how labelling terrorism is more important than acknowledging the victims.

"Our nation"...many of his supporters were happy about it.

ISIS, the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. All groups that we're slowly, but surely, defeating without resorting to ignorant generalizations about Muslim people and insulting (and racist) rhetoric that promotes segregation based solely on faith and nationality. Just look at the list of high ranking officials that we've killed in the last few years. Obama wasn't called "the greatest terrorist hunter in history" for nothing. That nickname was given to him by a strict conservative btw, hardly a fan of his. They're not winning, they're hardly a serious threat anymore (not that they aren't still deadly but they won't be taking us down).

But to hate them is to give them strength. Literally. They're convincing people that we hate them to get them up in arms against us. We can't afford to give them the fuel they need for that kind of anti-U.S. propaganda. They already use our drone program, god forbid we elect someone that wants to ban all Muslims, even if it's a temporary ban...we can't afford to have Trump's attitude be our voice.

In some people's minds, when you get hit, it's about hitting back ten times harder. They don't seem to understand that as long as you throw punches, you catch them too. It's the American way.

Eighteen

i think one reason the president didn't call it radical islam is because the american people are stupid and every time radical islam is mentioned the radical part seems to be forgotten (hence islamophobia running rampant in america today). AT LEAST obama mentioned that it was an LGBT attack unlike so many other politicians like trump. i for one have no problem with obama not mentioning that it was a radical islamic attack in these cases i think that terrorism is enough.

I could not agree more. I think it is absolutely shameful that President Obama to this day refuses to say "radical Islam". It brought me to tears today when I listened live to his speech and he didn't say those words.

He refuses to acknowledge the attackers today. Why? Because it would be "politically incorrect" to admit it. This breaks my heart. I wish I had a leader that would name our enemies.

President Holland called them radical Islamic terrorists when they attacked in Paris months ago. It's a disgrace my president won't do the same. We had the facts when he made his statement this morning and he refused to call it what it was.

This was, yet again, another act of barbaric radical Islamic terrorism.

Why does anyone need to bring Islam into it though? Both Obama and Hillary acknowledged who the attackers were. Both Obama and Hillary called this an "act of terror".

Both Hillary and Obama acknowledged this was terrorism, but they refuse to attribute this to ISIS (which is what ISIS would want) and they refuse to call it Islamic Terrorism (which only leads to more distrust and hatred of islamic americans and it's also what ISIS would want).

ISIS wants countries to reject muslims and vilify them. They have said this themselves, they want western countries like America to vilify and reject muslims so that they have nowhere else to turn but ISIS.

When Trump says he wants to prevent muslims from entering the country he is doing exactly what ISIS want. When Trump insists on highlighting the fact that the terrorist is "Islamic" then he helps create more of a divide between muslims and everyone else, which is exactly what ISIS want.

When Trump insists on a ban of muslims entering the country ISIS have scored another point. Such a huge political figure like Trump is heard not only in the U.S but across the world. His statements are not only influencing U.S politics but politics abroad. The more these Western Countries reject muslims the more ISIS succeed in their goals, they want this to be about muslims vs everyone else. They have stated this so many times. When the western world turns it's back on and vilifies muslims, they have nowhere else to turn but ISIS. It becomes us vs them.

Obama and Hillary are not calling these people "Islamic" terrorists because they have seen the power of such language. They know that by using inclusive language and encouraging people to band together rather than using divisive language and singling out Islam they are responding in a way that avoids giving our enemies any more power or influence.

Our enemy is the terrorist group ISIS. This man is most likely not associated with the terrorist group ISIS.

It matters because there is obviously a fundamental ideology of Islam that promotes violence through draconian Sharia practices. That's why it matters.
