Most pop fans don't buy albums at all (other than maybe the 10000 loyal fans), if they buy music at all, most buy singles

Alternative fans usually don't just buy a single, they would purchase an album since alt albums are usually fillerless and cohesive, and would more likely buy music too cuz they would feel bad for their artist cuz many alt artists are broke af

Lana has more talent in her big toe than all those other acts have combined. That's not to say I don't like the others, but Lana is an intelligent girl who's intellect is shown through her body of work. She writes her own songs with inspiration coming heavily from romanticism, film, literature, and all things vintage. It's emotional work that correlates with sadness and woe that people can relate to which makes it stand out amongst the generic, bland pop scene at the moment.

Halsey is pop imo. Her album has nothing at all to do with Lana. It's great but it's extremely different.

She's an album artist who always delivers quality. Her fanbase (me included) is big and loyal. I bought all her records (physical).

She'll continue having moderate success because of her fanbase. If she wants higher sales, she'll have to promote.
