It was such a massive deal when Obama was the first black man nominated/elected, it really is surprising that there isn't much awe or appreciation. Maybe that just speaks towards the attitude towards women in leadership in this country.

I don't necessarily think that it's necessarily solely about her being a woman, but with Bill's scandal, her emails, Benghazi, etc. people think she's untrustworthy, but I'm sure the fact that she is a woman plays a role into how people perceive her.

It's sad though that people would rather vote for a misogynistic, racist, fascist bigot.

How is "being in someone else's shoes" unique to feminism?

I never said they can't speak on the issues. It's just that having more intimate knowledge of the source material (AKA being a woman) makes them more effective at calling the shots when it comes to women's issues.

Are you arguing that a man can completely understand the intricacies of what women face in society, more than women themselves?

If you are, then how come it took women making a fuss for their rights to be given? Why didn't men give it to them to begin with?

If you are, are you also arguing that a woman knows equally as much as a man in that regard, as opposed to more?

That's exactly what I'm saying. Men and women are virtually equal in the United States, socially and otherwise. We don't need affirmative action for the chief executive tyvm.

Women's reproductive health encompasses far more than just having babies. Infertile women still have more personal insight on their own reproductive health than a cis male would.

Make all the negative posts you want, it won't change the fact that Hillary Clinton won the nomination by literally millions of votes. 

Saying that Hillary only won the nomination because she's a woman is as ridiculous as Republicans saying Obama only won the presidency because he's black. It's appalling and extremely ignorant of the struggles racial minorities and women have had to go through. Hillary and Obama did not win because of their race/gender, they won in spite of it.

Obama did win solely on his race. He was a first term senator with zero executive experience whatsoever. Why else would he have won against someone like Hillary who had more experience and the same platform as he did?

You're not inaccurate. Women and men in the USA are relatively equal in the USA compared to most places.

That's not the point though. Experience in certain departments make people more qualified to tackle that department. Certainly you can understand that right?

One can argue that a man who has studied women's rights and history can be more informed and qualified than a random woman who has not, although that does not diminish the fact that a random woman knows is far more likely than a random man to know and understand what women face by virtue of being a woman herself.

 The issue here is that Hillary isn't a random woman. She is someone with a proven track record of fighting for women's rights, BECAUSE she is a woman and saw the blatant social injustice at the time.

If you think women are equal today, it's only because of efforts of people like Hillary throughout the years to make that happen. There is still some work to do though, and who better to address those issues than someone like her?

Also I would refrain from using the term affirmative action when talking about a demographic bloc that technically outnumbers men.

I use the term affirmative action because so many supporters are putting a person in the White House because she is a woman. Same thing happens in college acceptance.
