Well he's technically not wrong but also white people aren't sufferers of institutionalised racism and oppression so :awkney: also extremely insensitive right after his death

That doesn't mean anyone has free reign to be racist to white people. It's wrong from any viewpoint.

It is a bit too soon, though.

"White privilege" is my favorite racist term :flutter: I love when people judge my quality of life based on my skin tone and imply that I hold myself and other people of my color to a higher standard than I do with people who are a different color/race :flutter: It's also great when they think I'm white but I'm actually a Puerto Rican that doesn't get much sun :flutter:

OT: He said inflammatory things and punched people for a living. He was also a really nice person and a renowned humanitarian. Honestly, I think it's best to talk about the positives after someone of his stature dies. Let's continue doing what he did right and keep what he did wrong in the back of our minds, sure to never do them ourselves. Let him leave a positive impact on the world :ohno:

Oh man, the reverse racism debate, let me stay away :rip:

Too soon though, and many of the things Muhammad Ali said about white people were apt. I don't agree with many, but I can totally empathize with the stuff about racism, because racism is crippling, its the definition of "oppressive"

Spoiler

That is if you actually face it :green:

Sure! He helped kill the GOP by sacrificing his reputation and worth :yay: pretty heroic if you ask me :nick:

Also, if we can't say they were good people, we can at least say they taught us how to not act :poot: optimism is the best drug tbh.

Piers is a vulture.

No, he's not right. Ali was not in position of power or running for president, he did not advocate for war crimes ("take out their families") and torture, he did not want to expell white people or ban them from entering the country. He did not want to nuke whites.

He did not want to fight the war for white people and kill others who have done nothing to him. So he wasn't in favour of mixed marriages when he was in his 20s? Wow, that's sooo much worse? Is Trump living in era of segregation where he's denied service in a diner because he's white? Are Muslims or Middle Easterners in position of power, oppressing him and taking away his basic human rights in America, did they take his ancestors as slaves? If that would be the case, his racism would be somewhat justified.

Ali's views, same as Malcom X's evolved after they LEFT Nation of Islam and it's unfair to hold those views against them considering the era they lived in and all the good things they did. Any of you who judge him, if you'd swap places with them and live through civil rights era, I can imagine all the "inflammatory" things you'd say towards your oppressors. :awkney:

So **** this prick. He's only goal is to defend Trump and smear a dead man and his legacy.

It's not too soon lol

It's good for someone to remind everyone that they're mourning for someone who they'd be dragging to hell and back if they knew this when he was still alive. Same with Bowie and his criminal sexual behavior, and Amy and her blatant drug abuse etc. that's always magically justified or actively forgotten whenever they die.

Everyone knew about this. It's nothing new.

And Morgan is only doing this because Trump was dragged for making fun of Obama with "Who are those successful Muslim sportsmen (like they don't exist)??" and then later tweeting about Muhammad Ali's death.
