Not fantasy at all. Look at Sweden.

It's a fanstasy in the US.

If Bernie was president he would not be able to pass the things he says. But he's probably do good things for social programs etc. and be aggressive (which imo is what we need). This is why I supported him. I never believed he was capable of some of the things he said.

In corporate America leaders such as the other candidates are the ones who will pass things since they aren't as passionate or aggressive as Bernie. That's not a bad thing a lot of the time. If Bernie can impact the Democrat's platform, I think that would be great.

This is why I know people who've moved to Europe. Tbh it's been in the back of my mind. This country is a joke a lot of the time.

Another persistent theme is the inconsistencies in Sanders ideas and proposals.

You can't feasibly implement all of them because some clash with others.

Sanders was part of a bill that wanted to employ 30 million Americans to rebuild American infrastructure.

The question is...who's going to pay them? With what money? What about the education and healthcare?

this is a prattling fallacy filled smart guy who like many others comes to the wrong conclusions regarding some things. ****ing terrible analogies "some people are blind, some people have sight" = "wealth inequality" in some weird ****ed up way, are you ****ing serious? LOL

he seems to be anti-poor and pro-rich? "why does someone have a lot of money? . . . why does someone get paid 1/2 a million dollars, let's say, a year? well it's because they produce much more than 1/2 a million dollars of value to their employer. it really is that simple." THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE. let's look at the pharmaceutical industry for example. do the rich people there always deserve the money they "earn"? **** no. i don't know know much about the economy but even i can see that it isn't that simple.

the fact of the matter is, if you work a full-time job, you should be ABLE to earn a living wage, that is all. that should be the MINIMUM. to live in luxury then one will be innovative, educated, etc. have some compassion you ****ing ****.

As someone who has moved to live a better life, you should do what makes you comfortable.

But if you leave, you'll never have a chance to have an impact. I live with that every day.

Then again I am somewhat of a Lebanese patriot. I'm not sure how you are ;)

30 minutes in, still no talk of the resourcefulness of the rich available for the most part ONLY to the rich, their ability to hire expensive lawyers, exploit the tax code, utilize offshore accounts, exploit the poor. ????

He notes that increasing minimum wage does not necessarily correlate with increased productivity.

In Seattle, increasing the minimum wage to 15$ led to many asking to work less hours, essentially forcing many employers to drive the costs of their business up which ultimately did not make much of a difference to people's standard of living beyond working a little less at the expense of other people.

----

Of course he's using an isolated example to make a general assumption of how things would work. Frankly I think it's useful in deconstructing the myths regarding increased minimum wage.

In fact, as he said, most credible financial experts have stated that increasing minimum wage has insignificant effects on purchasing power.

I disagree with him that minimum wage should not be increased across the board though. It's still not excusable to force people to work for meager amounts especially when their job requirements are sometimes overloaded in comparison to what they make.

However, it needs to be approached carefully, not as recklessly as Sanders proposes.

I don't pay attention to his conclusions. He's clearly a conservative and hates socialism in general.

His arguments themselves are not wrong or unrepresentative though. He just goes for the jugular lol

He mocks Sanders statements that healthcare is a right not a privilege, hence justifying it being completely free.

This is indeed incorrect. It is based on how much money you have and what your employers are willing to provide.

Clinton on the other hand says that AFFORDABLE health care is a right. This is true. Everyone should have access to healthcare. Clinton's plans are about shoring up inconsistencies and loopholes with insurance plans while using the already implemented AFA.

they might make sense mathematically (i don't know), but the fact of the matter is, such a claim is in my view an opinion cultivated by a privileged perspective of the world. life isn't the stuff of cold numbers (a truly capitalist mentality), one must inject some compassion and helpfulness into it from time to time, people do not operate according to some algorithm

i mean to make college less affordable is really nonsensical. education cannot be available only to those who can pay for it out of pocket. education should be a right, not a privilege.
