Epione 10,896
People who are saying that when LG5 drops everything will get back to normal are rather naive. There will always be a small group who will tear her and her work down because they are experts at everything. There will be a bunch of negative threads and the storm is not even here yet. Boomkack me. She will not please everyone with their expectations and they will be ruining the excitement for other fans. If this is the case, I will be closing my account after 5 years here. I was a member of this site many years ago, long before Born This Way even. Though I quit for personal reasons, I have been an irregular observer and thus decided to speak out against the impertinent and highly abusive rhetoric that seems to have taken over Gaga Daily. The issue of “sassiness” amongst members has always been problematic. Yet it appears that Gaga herself has become the subject of non-reflective, insensitive and even hurtful, pardon my French, bitching – marked by a degree of condescension that makes me nauseous. A great majority of active members, I assume, has completely lost its sense of perspective amidst the anticipation of Gaga’s fifth album. I would like to remind everyone of a few things that seem to have faded into obscurity. None of you are career advisors, have any idea whatsoever what it really is like to be part of the music industry and do not realise the corporate dynamics her work is (unfortunately) embedded in. But most importantly: none of you are accomplished songwriters with a presentable body of work. There is an unhealthy sense of entitlement that is inherent to this fanbase. Very few of you realise the pressure this puts onto her because she does know what her fans are saying. Is it any wonder she has noticeably withdrawn online? You expect her to deliver to you when in reality, she does not owe you anything. In fact, it is the exact opposite way around. Do consider the joy, empowerment and comfort she has brought into your little lives through her music, art and outspokenness. This is the person you sardonically make fun of. Do not forget that she has worked herself to the ground for you. Three years ago she physically and mentally broke down after six years of bearing the pain of trying to live up to industry standards she had defined, the expectation of artistically relevant reinvention and, throughout it all, maintaining an honest and committed relationships with her fans, online and offline. Good things take time and it is beyond obvious she is currently working on rather great music. I realise many of you, without wanting to discredit your intelligence, are children and very much living out an online persona. While I would also like to ask each and every single one of you to reconsider their self-portrayal on social media, I primarily ask you to question you and your fellow members’ behaviour of the past few weeks. She is human and deserves to present her work when she thinks it’s ready. Any teaser, insight or idea shared is generosity on her part and not a requirement or obligation. Furthermore, to wrap this up, she is human and deserves to be treated decently. Would you be this sassy, telling her what to do and snap your fingers if you were standing in front of her? I highly doubt it. Act accordingly online. Do consider this. I agree with this 100% on every point. The issue I think is many of the fans who have been here for a while grew up with Gaga and have matured. Many of the fans who came along during/post BTW are still young
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
What a great way to spend your Memorial Day. Writing this unnecessary letter that basically makes you out to be everything that you are complaining about.

And the alien and confused reactions to this are simply because people are seeing compassionate respect for the first time in ages. If you don't have shadows you're not standing in the light. Haroon 49,685
8 hours ago, Dominic Marc said: The biggest problem is that this forum seems to let people of all ages in so you've got 13 year olds arguing with 30 year olds. It's a little ridiculous. I disagree with this, I don't think setting an age limit would be good at all, it'd become so exclusive and not in a cool way The breadth of ages is a great thing, people of different generations and life experiences coming together in one place Plus some of the younger members can be the most mature and some of the oldest can be the most immature (I don't mean that to anyone by the way, I just mean that age doesn't equal maturity ). The rest of your post I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Marc

The rest of your post I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Marc Agreed. Age is nothing but a number. As a 30-something, one of the things I love most about coming here is sharing my opinions and then having someone nearly half my age reply and open my eyes to a concept I had never before considered. And vice versa. It's a beautiful exchange, and it's one of the things that keeps me coming back. As long as we use this space in a positive way, it's truly a gift to all of us. I just wish we could leave all the negativity and attention-seeking-drag-speak tactics behind (or at least relegated to a tongue-in-cheek nature.... but right now, all the negativity is quite literal). Schwerk 7,243
@JosefPallas I don't see why you would post this and then not partake in the discussion anymore? I agree with the general sentiments of your message, but as you said music is a business and fans are a vital part of that business. I never feel Gaga ows me anything, but on the other hand it's not just her and her teams hard work she got famous, it's also because of her fans who were there from the start, through ups and downs and have invested massive amounts of time, energy, creativity and not to forget money in her. I feel this gets overlooked sometimes. I just ignore the shadiness and sass as much as possible and don't really take it that seriously. And I think Gaga is best to ignore it too. Many fans are two faced in reality as well. They talk **** about her or her work and be all nice to other fans, but as soon as she appears, they push everyone aside and tell her how much they love her. Fandoms are and always have been complex in emotions and should not be taken to seriously. I hope Gaga will chuckle about the LG5 demands if anything. Cause after all, it means they haven't forgotten about her. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

But people around her do not. Producers, managers, even her friends don't understand the relationship between Gaga and Monsters. And apparently neither do you. There is nothing wrong with being a little bit sassy and passionate and wanting new music and Gaga to do things we can be proud of instead of sitting around waiting and waiting. Part of being a superfan is that undying passion Monsters possess. If you don't possess it or understand it, you need to sit down and not advise us what proper fan behavior is. Capiche? Bye!
