freebit 6,240 Posted May 26, 2016 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Understandable, considering everything she's got on her plate & her fatigue from the show that she's expressed since season 3. I feel like the writers have really got to put a lot of effort into the writing at this point so that people won't regard the post-Lange seasons as the bad years (like how Gilmore Girls kind of fell off after Rory went to Yale.) Hotel had all the potential in the world, but the sloppy writing ruined it. There was a point last season were I felt like I and most of the fans took the show more seriously than the writers did. It's like they just completely gave up and phoned everything in. They should focus on quality rather than water-cooler moments - like for example the Hotline Bling sequence was cute, but it completely distracted from the character buildup that had been brewing all season with Donovan and the Countess. The show seems lost anyway, I can't see how Ryan Murphy could be able to run 4 shows a year when he got to screw one while it was his only major project. I'll focus on Scream Queens and Feud, AHS and ACS will be the one-shot-series after it's all released. Bradley 59,156 Posted May 27, 2016 Share Posted May 27, 2016 I love her but at the same time I also want Ryan to make a point that they could equally deliver a season with Asylum quality without needing Jessica, because I believe that the current actors on American Horror Story are just as talented as her. Jessica is a great, vibrant actress but it became very obvious that Ryan and co. were writing to her specific strengths, and that in turn made the characters somewhat repetitive in their characteristic and story arcs.
