If there's nothing wrong with Gaga's comments, then there was nothing wrong about Madonna either.

I also added a reference to all the hundred times Gaga criticized artists for not singing live and/or not writing their own songs. I used the Britney gif just because obviously Britney is a perfect example for such an artist, despite Gaga acting all nice to her all the time.

Yeah but saying 'I demand quality' does not equal to shading all other artists who don't match up to her standards. I mean yes she doesn't approve Britney's live vocals but that doesn't root from a negative nature - shade.

The mechanical horse tweet IS shade because it's negative in nature, but the Monster Ball statement was not.

I don't get what's so shady in Christina tweet. Also about Britney Spears it doesn't mean that she won't talk to Britney just because she lipsyncs. Tweet about Miley is more like an observation, and I don't consider tweet about horses and green hair that cynical, you don't know what her intentions were. It could mean anything. I don't see the point of making this thread, just because someone made similar thread about Katy Perry.

When you take the 20+ comments about it since 2008 together, I'm pretty sure we can say it is meant in a negative way. Come on. Just last year she said the music industry should basically end careers of artists who can't sing and aren't artistically invested. That's not negative?

I'm not sure. I do think Gaga wishes Britney would sing live but I dont think Gaga cares about who sings live anymore. If you noticed, Gaga hasnt been on a lip syncing rant since early 2014 and then funny enough after that rant she attended a Britney concert and since then Gaga stopped so I guess Gaga got her life from Britney. I think Gaga respects and loves Britney because Gaga almost had her 2007ney meltdown in 2013 and she sees Britney as strong. I know some people here are confused as to why Gaga loves Britney so much but people need to understand that Gaga grew up listening to Britney. Gaga's music taste is wide. She listens to mostly classic rock, heavy metal, progressive rock etc but Gaga also loves bubblegum pop music too. The fact Gaga knows "When Your Eyes Say It" a Britney song that was never performed live or even a single just goes to show that she is a true britney fan. Let's also not forget when Gaga blocked one of her fans for posting tweets that called Britney a robot, an asylum patient, and crazy. I dont blame Gaga in that case because its one thing to not like brtineys music but to mock her mental illness is just too low and Gaga probably got fed up because she has her own mental issues too.

The point was that the options/explanations for Katy's "shade" were extremely biased and off-putting (and so were the choices people made), when I was 100% sure they wouldn't say the same thing about their own fav. Logical, but still hypocritical.

So I just took the same poll options in this thread to show in an instant that it's ridiculous to call a person insecure/jealous/humorless based on a few randomly selected tweets and statements that aren't even really that shady.

That was the intention

I also stan for Madge who was genuine and actually cares for the gays/minority/woman, I just felt she was just using the minorities during BTW, so I didn't like it.

Most of the digs start from the other artist/base and with Katy, the timing is suspiciously very close. No, gaga didn't invent oxygen, aliens (BTW vs ET), mermaids (You and I) a pink dress with a large bowtie (C2C and Katy's orchestral DH performance) and yes, Katy dressed quirky even before but really--how many of these happened very close to when Gaga did? Amd how frequently were they done by other artists before Gaga did?

Maybe the other examples posted were jokes but when done frequently? And let's not lie please some of those were true digs at Gaga
