this thread was not meant to compare them. it was a question and was aimed at katy's attitude, and hers alone. others had to bring gagz into to, just to prove their point.

I think insecurity is at the bottom of it all, and that goes for Katy's attitude and shade towards other artists as well. She knows that she needs a lot of help for her hit songs and that she has a mediocre voice and stage prescence. She also recognizes that others, like Gaga, have far more talent (and in multiple areas) and confidence on stage. Katy tries to fool herself into thinking otherwise, due to having hit songs, but in the back of her mind she always knows that it took a massive team and lots of smoke and mirrors to get her there.

I think she does it because she doesn't do it on many occasions others will, so she sometimes feels fed up and bored of the things she usually ignores and goes like "**** it", "let's tell it like it is". she is insecure but I think reading "insulting" remarks out of sheer annoyance as insecurities/no sense of humor exclusively is one of the worst pop psychology myths.

I don't even think she thinks twice.

and I think that not thinking twice is a defense mechanism that fights insecurities but not necessarily a weakness if you know your heart is pure
