ItsTommyBitch 12,640
20 minutes ago, SISTERV said: I've just seen alot of data that disagrees with this. Perhaps "educated" has multiple definitions to people, but it shouldn't just mean going to school and learning a trade. There are plenty of people who get jobs outside of the typical community college/university/online schooling environment that are educated as **** in their own right. I mean....technically Steve Jobs wouldn't have counted towards someone who finished school and was "educated" but he was insanely talented and smart. Technically Gaga doesn't count as "educated" either. Alot of black women are going into the nursing field right now. I don't think this reveals the entire picture and I think there is still more work to be done to get black women involved in as Kk trades and shoot even higher. Just my opinion. That's why I don't like these kind of vague, super hyperbolic facebook type videos. Black women still aren't fairly assimilated into working culture the way they should be. I think it's just an objective observation; black women are the most educated in terms of formal education. Ofc you can make the argument that informal education can be better or just as good as informal education, or maybe even no education at all. My question was why do you think its fudged because it sounds like you think they are trying to promote an agenda you disagree with I think the "agenda" or message its sending is a rhetorical question; if black women are so objectively more educated, when education is so highly praised and encouraged by society, why do we still not give them the respect and value they deserve? (The answer is open ended because its large and the subject of many a dissertation ) To give a little insight... You may know this, but the fact that some people can still be successful or "educated" without formal education (college) is actually not a situation of equal opportunity. It's historically been driven by institutional sexism and racism as well. It is overwhelmingly white men who are the people that can not go to college or have formal education and still be successful and still treated as if they are fully competent, "educated" individuals. (I know I'm forgetting something about immigrants, but I cant remember atm ) Women as a group don't have this privilege because of their common perception. People in general will look at a man (especially a white man) and see him as more intelligent and more fit, with more leadership traits than a woman because of implicit biases. Black women are popularly seen as even less capable than white women and women of other races as well. There's a bunch of other factors that go into this, people appropriating but simultaneously criticizing black culture; seeing black women as "extra", "ghetto", "ratchet", the policing of black women's natural hair, etc. On top of this there is the general bias that many of the jobs that exist without formal education in America require some kind of tactile skill and women are actively discouraged from these kinds of jobs by pretty much all of society On top of that, those who do pursue these skills may not be employed because employers may themselves not be formally educated and have outdated views about women. Presumed differences based on median or average values along gender lines can lessen their chances of being hired. (In other words, many physical labor based jobs may have biases and think women are unfit of doing the jobs, even if its often not true) Implicit biases are strong This was mostly a rant, sorry Basically, american society is racist AND sexist, so black women overwhelmingly HAVE to (or feel they have to) get college degrees to be taken seriously in professional settings 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

GloZell Green 11,723
This is great! Of course we'll see the people try to discredit this information because they're not being credited as the most educated. I find it very odd how minorities have some of the most educated people who cannot show their talent and knowledge simply because they suffer a great deal (in a lot of cases) but also great! Computer 10,980
This is really unrelated but I have to share When I was younger my mom used to laud Oprah and say how she was so educated. I always assumed she had a PHD since my mom mentioned it so much. Later I learned this was a white term for assimilated basically. My mother applauding assimilation of blacks to her liking I know this is off topic but it has got to be a sore point and wanted to point out my notice of it 💚💛💕❣⭕💢💢 | ⓜⓔⓡⓡⓨ ©ⓗⓡⓘⓢⓣⓜⓐⓢ
