Never thought I'd say this but I completely agree with him.

He doesn't feel good at award shows.

He doesn't feel good with fans.

He doesn't feel good performing on tour.

Why is he a famous musician again?

With all the talk of Bieber on here, and the speculation of his misery, I found this article to be relevant. He had a bit of an Instagram rant after the awards show.

Justin Bieber Slams ‘Hollow’ Billboard Music Awards in Instagram Rant: ‘There’s an Authenticity Missing’

ET Online May 23, 2016

Turns out Justin Bieber really wasn’t having a good time at the Billboard Music Awards.

The 22-year-old pop star delivered an electrifying performance of his “Sorry” and “Company” and won Top Male Artist during Sunday’s show, but fans couldn’t help but notice every time a camera cut to Bieber, he didn’t exactly look thrilled to be there.

“I don’t know about these award shows,” Bieber admitted in a lengthy Instagram rant on Monday. “No disrespect to anybody at any of the shows or the people running it. Nothing but love for you guys and your support. But I don’t feel good when I’m there nor after.”

“A lot of people in the audience there to be seem worried about how much camera time they will get or who they can network with,” he wrote alongside a photograph of sheep. “When I’m doing a regular show I feel they are there for the right reasons and to strictly have a good time!”

Bieber also explained why he was never seen smiling in the crowd during the show:

“I am privileged and honored to be recognized by my peers [but] in these settings I can’t feel the recognition. There’s an authenticity missing that I crave! And I wonder does anybody else,” he concluded, before adding an important note: “Sorry not sorry about grammar it’s not my strong point.”

It’s a far cry from the “endearing” enthusiasm the Purpose artist showed during a rehearsal for the show, when a source told ET he was “super into” his performance. Either way, Bieber didn’t stick around long after making his brief acceptance speech, as a source backstage spotted him leaving the venue “pretty hastily” afterward.

“He was just ready to go,” we’re told. “He wasn’t talking to anyone at all.”

I did notice how unhappy he looked at the show... and his acceptance speech was so short, saying "I'm not much of a talker" before thanking God, family, and "those who believe in me." He didn't mention his fans, of course.

The article quotes him as saying how he feels privileged and grateful for the recognition, but then basically implies otherwise with his other statements.

It really does seem like he has realized that HE is not famous for his self, his soul, his being, but for the package that was created of him and distributed to thirsty teenage girls. I can imagine it has to be disheartening.

I am worried for his well being. I do not wish bad on him, as recent threads have highlighted that as an opinion of some. My intention is not to bash him or to show how much of an a**hole he is, but to show some evidence that he is indeed having a rough time with his celebrity.

He was so young when his career started... people that age can't possibly fully comprehend the implications of huge success and how it would affect the rest of their life.

I hope he can find some artistic freedom and a real sense of gratitude and appreciation from the GP, etc, before he gets swallowed up and spit out.

(Sorry for long OP.)

Do you guys think he can recover? Is he too disheartened now? Are fans too upset with him? Will he stay on "top" of pop? :wtf:

He should quit but he probably loves the money too much to do so

If you don't like the celeb life you don't need to live it. Many people would be happy if you just left, dear Justin.

He gotta stop talking like that. He seems to be tired, why don't you quit? Or at least rest from your fame for a year or two. This is serious... or just hypocrisy

Macklemore made a song about this on his new album that no one cared about.

Maybe people always look happy for the cameras because if they don't the public tears them apart and tries to press for information about why they didn't clap for this person, laugh at that person's joke, dance to this performance, etc. Better to just look happy the whole time than deal with the backlash in case you, god forbid, make a weird face when someone is on stage.

We all saw what happened when Gaga merely bumped into Leo.

Also, let's not forget these things ARE networking opportunities for celebrities. If you respect someone's work and want to become known to them an awards show is a great opportunity to expand your career's social circle.

The fakeness of it sucks, but in reality it's not as awful as Justin's making it out to be, imo. I'm willing to bet people wouldn't be so on edge and focused on the cameras while at the shows if the public didn't try to dissect everything.

Call him a hypocrite, ungrateful or whatever - and I do find these little rants to be slightly cringeworthy - but I think he has a point underneath all of this.

The whole awards show thing is pretty shallow and he's clearly struggling with fame after being in the public eye for so long. I appreciate him in this for keeping it real and not pretending to love everyone and everything going on that night. I appreciate him being honest and open about it. Gaga has also spoken a lot in the past about the fake industry schmoozing and I didn't see any of you telling her she should just quit music or imply that she's only in it for the money. Let's not forget her being done with the BS at the VMAs in 2013 and walking out.

I definitely think he's beginning to understand a lot about his position as a celebrity in the world now, and he really doesn't like it. As we've seen time and time again, that can be really dangerous and I'm genuinely worried for him.

I hope he wasn't actively rude to people at the awards, but it's quite easy to understand why you'd be so dismayed by the whole thing.

If he doesn't feel like being there then he shouldn't attend them. As much as I like his songs, his behaviour has been nothing but nasty and his performances are a lipsynch mess. He doesn't even seem like trying anymore.

He must be dealing with some issues, I hope he gets well soon.
