Is it time for male celebrities to start wearing dresses to events?

I mean the state of male fashion right now is just depressing... :saladga: Every male celeb that turns up at the red carpet is wearing the same goddamn thing...while their female counterparts get to wear all sorts of crazy stuff, like a seashell bikini and thong or even a ****ing meat dress. So isn't it time that some men who are brave enough should start changing the rules of male fashion? Why not wear dresses to challenge the idea? I mean female celebs wear suits all the time and nobody blinks an eye, so shouldn't men make wearing dresses the norm too? I mean we've always wanted to live in a gender-equality world, right?

No one will do it though, most male celebrities are too worried about being seen as feminine :diane:

I just think there isn't as much innovation when it comes to male fashion. We see all these fashion designers during fashion shows making kickass outfits for females with one or two halfassed designs for men. I think if they focused more on male fashion, we would get amazing looks.

I'm here for it :diane: Modern male fashion is boring as f*ck.

The 1970s were the golden age for male rockstar fashion imo.

Things got boring after the backlash against disco in the early 80s (correct me if I'm wrong)

I would do it. :hor: But not in an explicit way.

Firstly, i would try wearing unusual stuff, such as a Nehru jacket or a Chinese emperor robe to award shows.

Then, when I'm known as the male Lady Gaga, with several top 10 hits and no. 1 albums, I would go full-on batsh!t mode and start my 'cross-dressing' phase. I have nothing to lose at that point.

I would love a confident male artist who could pull this off. Adam Lambert is on my mind. His new image tho is depressing, it lost its glam rock vibe

lol there'd be no point in that.

The only reason the red carpet is there is to serve as a commercial for fashion designers. Like it or not, those basic outfits the guys are wearing are very expensive designer wear. Look at a men's fashion runway. It's the same.

Not really. Hairstyles got even more elaborate, and there was 80s glam, remember?

My guess is that Hip Hop and Grunge in the 90s killed male fashion.

It can be a collaborative effort between them I guess....

Or maybe if someone could afford to have their own Haus.

I would rather this than every single man show up to events in the same tuxedo :madge:
