I thought Stevie Wonder was blind but not tone deaf. He's losing his vocal ability.

Her rendition of "Nothing compares" wasn't bad at all. You guys.. She wasn't off the whole time, c'mon she's almost 60 years old. Singing is something very challenging. I applaud her for the effort at her age, taking the task this seriously and giving her best.

The duet was tragic. Oh well if you want a good tribute to Prince go watch D'angelo. This is so sad that i don't even care about tributes. Stevie Wonder alone, and i would prefer a better band, would have done a much better job. If they would make him comfortable. But Madonna is a grat plataform and we can have more people hearing this. Since the 00's Prince career has taken a step down from the mainstream. Now everyone knows the Purple King, that's all that matters.

Um excuse me that was rude and unnecessary, Madonna tries her best.

This is what annoys me about GaGa stans - so many of them drag Madonna.

Her acting is on par with gaga (say what you like), she has survived far longer than gaga, she is STILL pushing agism/sexism/sexuality boundaries and makes really good music

So shush, she is the deservant Queen of Pop, and Im a gaga stan.

Oh and btw she's a better dancer than gaga

What does Gaga has to do with this?

First of all there was no dancing nor acting. There was only singing which happens to be Gaga's strongest suit.

Yeah I don't think it's necessary to drag Madonna but disliking something she does doesn't mean we hate her it only means we have criteria.

Personally I couldn't care less if she tried her best or not, what I care about is the result and the result was a emotional performance with a poor vocal performance. You don't have to agree with me or with anyone who is bashing the performance but you're gonna have to respect our opinions if you plan to stay here.

Wow. That slayed. It really felt like a tribute and M sounded amazing + she looked like a real Queen.

from the link

"He also revealed that it was Madonna’s camp who first reached out about doing the tribute."

I didn't know about this.^^

I just want to say about dressing up as Prince, Gaga got **** for looking like Bowie and it was called "Vegas act", but that won't be the case here.

Is it because the choice of the songs? More ballad type are "appropriate" for tribute? Idk.

She needs to stop with botox or whatever she's injecting to her face.

I won't criticize her vocals, cause I never expected her to sing well. I can see it was emotional for her, so...

It's really sad that Prince is gone. 💜

I don't see how my post was rude. Sure, it's "unnecessary", like every single post on this entire forum, but I don't see how my opinion was a "drag". I'm just stating what I saw. I don't really care about Madonna at all, and I don't feel any need to talk **** about her.

I'm just saying that the performance was mediocre. You don't agree?
Then tell me what part of the performance was superb. Tell me which part makes it a good performance.

Was it her strolling? Was it her singing? Was it the emotion that was put into it? Was it the costume? Was it the clapping?

She barely moved. She sang off-key most of the time (it wasn't atrocious, but I never said it was atrocious. I think it was simply mediocre.) When I saw her costume I thought the theme would be something about costumes, but she just wore an outfit similar to Prince, that was it.
In terms of emotion, I don't think there was a lot of feeling in her voice. There wasn't a backscreen with B&W pictures of Prince, there wasn't a very dramatic musical arrangement. I don't see where the emotion is.

it was a mediocre performance.

Oh, I'm just visiting-

It's because it was an interpretation of Prince's iconic look and the costume was just a small reference to him, she didn't show up in his make-up and hair too :chica:

That's not true tho :rip: People exaggerate about this so much. She went off-key sometimes, but so did Stevie, and a lot more when you take into account the time he was on stage compared to Madge.

Well Gaga tried the same thing, the makeup was part of Intel's technology. I don't see the big difference.

Oh surprise haters dragging M for not serving Whitney vocals. Like for real, why even expect them. She did fine, it wasnt perfect but thats doesnt matter. It was emotional and I liked The certain rawness it had. Clearly her emotions almost got the best of her, that is actually very beautiful rather than pitch perfect yelling and belting. It was heartwarming. I Take that anyday over lipsync messed of many others there..

Song choices were great and very suitable. Setting was respectful and nice. Steve was great addition. Loved The photos too.

Most ofall I loved The costume. It was a perfect combination of M and Prince and a nice hint to The costumes Prince designed for M in '85 to wear. Very well done Cucci! It was not an Prince imitation or Halloween costume, but it had much Deeper lvl to it. Oh and The details of doves etc. were stunning! (As seen in Insta)

ALL in ALL, job well done! :)

There isn't a big difference, it's just how it comes across to people. Some felt that Gaga imitated Bowie instead of honouring him (the two ofc aren't mutually exclusive but for some it is). Clearly not the case with Madonna.

But hey Madonna's getting bashed for other reasons, so it's not like she's winning here :rip:
