Apparently Secret Service of Ukraine prepared a document yesterday for refusing Julia Samoylova so we'll see what happens :ohno: Even if Julia gets to represent Russia it could be Robbie for another year. I don't think he meant specifically this year.

Still really mad about this. Ukraine shouldn't be allowed to host Eurovision at this point. :madge:

There's no relevant artist who wants to represent that country anymore :reductive:

Even if they picked their B, C or D artists (who are still relevant and not almost dead) they would do so much better... Now they are picking artists nobody knows. :awkney:

Thank you, it's my country, I really hope that you like it, it's really very original and unique with national, traditional elements, hypnotic sounds and eurasian influences

Your country did a great job like last year. They will be in the final for sure and with good staging this can even enter the top 10. It is unique for sure and like you said full with traditional instruments. That's what I like so much about this song.

Is the album always released this late? And I'm not gonna pay that much money to be honest. :poot:

No it's about a week later than usual, but everything in the production has been late this year :green:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

Basically this.

I have a mixed feeling about this. I feel sad for Yulia (and her overall representation), but not for Russia. It was a cheap strategy to send Yulia (which makes me even more sad for her, because let's be honest, discussions have not been about her).

But this year IS a big mess anyways, so many things going wrong :toofunny: And I don't want to know what consequences this could have...:omg:

It's not EBU's fault, banning Russia has its roots in Ukrainian laws.

However, I truly believed this was staged by the Russian government. They knew it would happen, now they get to be the good guys, and everyone is forgetting they are at war with Ukraine, and they already killed many people, not to mention Crimea annexation. Disgusting.

Eurovision has been a political play for way too long, and I am sick of it.

According to vesti.ru Russian Channel 1 has stated that Julia will go to Eurovision in any case. If she won't be allowed to go this year she will get to represent Russia in 2018.

Ukraine has banned Russia's entry for the 2017 Eurovision song contest, Yulia Samoilova, from entering the country for three years, because the contestant had previously visited Crimea.

Olena Gitlyanska, a member of Ukraine's security service, announced the decision on Wednesday via a Facebook post. She included photos of 27-year-old Samoilova at a concert in Crimea.

"The Security Service of Ukraine banned from entering Ukraine citizen of the Russian Federation Julia Samoilova for three years. The decision taken on the basis of the information on her violation of laws of Ukraine."

Entering Crimea through Russia without passing through the border on the East of Ukraine, or gaining Ukrainian authority's permission, is illegal under Ukrainian law.

The Russian ministry of foreign affairs told state-owned news agency RIA Novosti that the decision was "cynical and inhuman."
