Well done to this advertise!

Nonetheless, we were all cannibals millions of years ago. It's hard to say it like this, but we are actually bound to kill animals in order to have our food. You don't see a lion becoming vegetarian. A lion won't think twice when it's hungry to strike a human in order to still his hunger. Anyways, becoming a vegetarian isn't all that good either. And I have nothing against them, it's just not making you any better.

We aren't bound anymore to kill animals for food and humans are more intelligent than lions so not a good comparison. I'm not vegan either, but it's definitely good for the planet.

What :toofunny:

Actually no, people were pretty vegetarian before they learned to utilize fire. That's when the population booms started because they were able to properly cook food, get more nutrients, and spend the day doing useful stuff rather then chewing on raw things all day. And no one is expecting lions to become vegetarians because they are carnivors. And yes, becoming a vegetarian IS good, they have the best health on average.

I don't trust PETA :wtf:

And also vegans and people who eat meat should just leave each other alone, forcing your ideas onto another person just makes you look silly

Well scientist have already stated that the reason mankind's brain grew back then in the first place & subsequently became more intelligent, was because of the consumption of meat.

You are refering to the start, when I never pointed out when it exactly started. We were hunters.

It was because of the utilization of fire, which allowed access to more nutrients.

There's no special component in meat itself that causes someone's brain to grow.

its the nutrients we got from meat and stuff like B-12 and other vitamins that helped brain evolution. pretty sure tho we can get these nutrients from other sources today tho since its the 21st century :laughga:

meat eating is probably going to be one of those things that future generations look at and think people used to be crazy in the 21st century. like how we look back on 12 year olds getting married or slavery. they'll be like "holy **** they used to torture and murder animals just so they could eat?!" then they'll eat their fancy non-cruel tofu or w/e they invent to replace meat in the future.

meat eating might be a relic of ancient barbarians one day :green: of course this might bring about xenophobia due to the uncivilized poor countries who still have to eat meat. :green:  the more i think of the implications of veganism catching on, the more i wonder if its really a good idea, but i bet we'll be ok since we wont live to see it :neyde:

i'mma go smoke more :emma: brb

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

I mean some of us here aren't trying to push our agendas on people, others are trying to bully people emotionally/verbally into believing what they believe.

Well, I guess people are very passionate about things they believe in. Especially when there's some obvious hypocrisy and injustice going on. Now this might not necessarily be your case, but the fact of the matter is that most people who are apathetic when it comes to animal rights, would never dare to kill an animal themselves. It really baffles how people can so vehemently defend the idea that animals don't have feelings, but if it was up to them to kill the animal that's on their table, they probably couldn't bring themselves to do it. (Again, this doesn't mean there aren't people capable of killing animals unscrupulously).

I do not agree with the way organizations like PETA or other vegans try to shame meat-eaters into changing their diet. I for one don't consider it an effective method, because it gives vegans a bad name and that's ultimately the connnotation your brain will associate when it comes to adopting this diet. And it's ultimately about creating a better environment for animals and not really about making people feel like crap. I do, however, understand that in many cases it's not coming from a bad place. I mean, it's really frustrating as someone who loves animals, watch them suffer under this system, where meat has become incredibly accessible and the disgusting part of the process happens behind the curtain. Eating meat is not what it used to. People used toeat meat on special occasions, and now it's just become essential to so many people, to even consider something food. There are too many humans and animals would never be a sustainable source of food, if it weren't for the meat industry breeding them to let them live under the most careless and vile conditions, just to slaughter them when the time has come. Animals used to be free and humans used to hunt them to eat them. Which is an easier concept to grasp for me (but personally not a lifestyle I would choose, either, because I could never kill an animal).

On topic: It's a very well executed ad. Props to PETA, even though I usually don't agree with their methods :)
