Trump will not release tax returns before November

Bonkers

The real irony of Trump's tax return refusal is that he was demanding Obama release his full form birth certificate and then demanding Obama release his college records.  Both those things are unprecedented for a President whereas EVERY presidental candidate releases tax returns.

He even said he would donate 5 mllion to charity if Obama would release his college records.

GET HIM!!!  :grr:

Well, if a thread invites it :gaycat:

"behold the true wrath of Hillary, Bernie supporters"

What the hell does this mean btw :rip: She's just saying she has revealed her tax reports (which everyone knows) and Trump is probably not releasing his due to some fishy reason she won't even guess about. Who cares. Barely a significant statement let alone "wrath".

It didn't look like a joke. I mean your thread title pretends she took a noteworthy swing at him too, so I didn't think it was just a joke in passing.

But glad it is :chica:

Hillary has also been preparing to be president for the past 16 years, so of course she has her forms ready... :toofunny:

Also, you really think Hillary Clinton is transparent??? She not only deleted HALF of a private email server using her discretion alone before "handing it over" to the FBI investigation, but she also flat out refused to disclose what she said in speeches with millions of dollars to Wall Street executives for NO reason. She's is the least transparent career politician there is.

On those emails and in those speeches there could actually be incriminating details about her. But on the other hand, what juicy thing could we find out about Trump's tax forms? Like what juicy information could you possibly what to see in them? That he's a 9 billionaire instead of a 10? Give me a break.

I said translucent :rip:

I was mocking her :deadbanana:

Although I don't hold it against her that she's not as transparent as people wish her to be. Everything she says is overblown. 25 years have taught her that. She distrusts the GOP and the Press, not the people.

People tend to confuse lack of transparency with trustworthiness, implying that the former somehow means the latter. That's just how humans work though I suppose. One wonders why are so open to someone who is transparent (lol not really) like Trump but is so dishonest in his speeches and actions.

She's actually the most honest candidate in the race, with her fair share of ****ups though. Any doubts on what she says are nothing more than assumptions. She's just not transparent, and that turns people off. To her credit, she's trying.

False. She blatantly lied and refused to call the Benghazi attack a terrorist plot even though her emails reveal she knew it was a premeditated plot. Also, one has to wonder why she deleted half a server before "handing it over", if you can even call it that.

Does the IRS not have to confirm they are actually auditing someone? Or can you just say you are being audited...

And can'r you release anything during that time?

They don't confirm, that I'm aware of, but it is completely allowable/legal to release them while you're being audited. Trump keeps saying "his lawyer has advised against it".

Why are you providing isolated incidents as justification for a sweeping generalization?

She's lied more than a few times for the sake of damage control I'll give you that, but when it comes to policies and implementations, she's consistently the most honest one of all.

http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/article/2016/mar/27/final-five-truth-o-meter/

And I suggest you stop using the e-mail server as some kind of justification for dishonesty. She has the right to clean the server from persona e-mails, not to mention that none of the documents were classified (at least retroactively).

If anything you can use that as an argument for negligence, and I'll gracefully concede that point while pointing out that it's still overblown in terms of impact and concern, while also pointing out that all the other candidates in the race have had their own moments that simply aren't as mentioned.

Except for you know fundamental human rights which she hasn't supported until the last 3 years. She's the biggest flip-flopper in D.C.

No she isn't.

Why do you assume that her policies are discrete, with her changes in stances being deliberate flip flops on the spot as if she woke up one morning and decided to flip a switch?

Hillary has consistently been on the side of progress when it has come to human rights, most notably women and children. Do you want me to link to you her entire resume?

She has also been a huge proponent of LGBT rights worldwide, with her UN speech regarded to be historic speech in terms of LGBT visibility.

In any case her position regarding same-sex marriage, which I assume is what you are trying to say here, was hardly different than her previous one.

Not explicitly supporting same-sex marriages =/= being against them. Naturally her stance softened along with most Americans. She's an American...

May 2007: In a questionnaire for the Human Rights Campaign in 2007, Clinton backed away from the Defense of Marriage Act:

"I support repealing the provision of DOMA that may prohibit the federal government from providing benefits to people in states that recognize same-sex marriage."

In response to a question about whether marriage should be made legally available to two committed adults of the same sex, Clinton marked that she was "opposed" though she stated she supported civil unions.

August 2007: In a Democratic primary debate sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign and LOGO Network (a gay-oriented TV station) Clinton was asked "What is at the heart of your opposition to same-sex marriage?"

Clinton replied: "Well, I prefer to think of it as being very positive about civil unions. You know, it’s a personal position. How we get to full equality is the debate we’re having, and I am absolutely in favor of civil unions with full equality of benefits, rights, and privileges."

She was just opposed to the notion of same-sex marriage, not LGBT unions. As much as we dislike that stance, it's still understandable especially when you consider the fact that she's from an older generation.

---

Her next statement on same-sex marriage was SIX years later during her tenure as Secretary of State.

March 2013: After leaving her position as secretary of state, she announced her support for same-sex marriage in a video with the Human Rights Campaign on March 18, 2013.

----

People like to assume that politicians should always be ahead of the curve, but then one wonders why you call it representation. Hillary represents her people, and evolves along with them. That you view that as flipflopping for one reason or another is due to a pessimistic outlook, not a reasonable one.

Which has nothing to do with this topic.

Presidential nominees are expected to release their tax returns and have done so for the last forty years.

Preseidential nominees are not expected to release transcripts of speeches they gave as private citizens. Not one nominee has ever done so.

Succinct :applause:
