I low-key expected her to perform in 2011 tho

I'm surprised that there wasn't any entry from Max in the ESC so far.

I don't think he needs to do Eurovision?

Also...****! 💩I still stood up the chance to volontere...

Well neither did RedOne really, but he still made Russias entry in 2011.

wasnt 2016 supposed to be kind of "free of big competition"? :udidnt:

Where did you ever get the idea though...

Did you not see the list of artists releasing their work this year? :emma:

Wouldn't be surprised if this was something the central EBU organisers forced upon them. Petra Mede's interlude song last time Sweden hosted was fantastic, which makes JT's drecks all the more miserable.

Oh. Didn't know that (bad eurovision stan). Then I don't think he wants to. You never know how the Swedes vote when choosing which song to participate woth though. He might not win.

ok it seems ESC is completely turning into a circus show now.. don't get me wrong but it has nothing to do with the original idea of songcontest anymore. it is much more a showcontest today. it shouldn't be allowed for foreign countries or performers to sing on that stage either..
maybe my view is really old-fashioned but so many people would enjoy that show if every contestant sings in their native language.. no wonder that this show is rejected by the majority of Europeans. a waste of money in days where it is needed for more serious things.

Celine Dion won in 1988 and she Canadian, Katrina and the Waves won in 1997 and she's American and the winner in 1971 was a French woman representing Monaco. You've never had to be from the country.

OT I think it's a bad idea because the interval is supposed to be a showcase of your nation eg a native dance, style or music, local musician or theater production. Justin Timberlake has **** all to do with Sweden

Bye

Maybe Eurovision will be less of a farce. I'm glad to see the EBU isn't stuck to their old ways. Maybe the countries seeing Justin perform will actually realise they should start sending good songs that can stand the test of time for at least more than a couple of days.

You do realize that EBU makes the decisions, right? :awkney:

SVT only comes up with good suggestions :gaycat:

Killa

If she did this her message would be lost, it's pretty clear LG5 wouldn't make no sense if it was debuted in such a manner. Even if her sound is very Eurovision trashy like.

Eurovision is struggling with a problem every big company, event etc struggles more and more, you have to keep bringing more views, interest. The demand is always for more, more, or it's not a success. This is such a sad thing.

Trying to steal the new performers spotlight? How arrogant. The spotlight should be on the performers who signed up for the contest not him. He had his days.

Is that why the scoring changes every time Sweden hosts? :neyde:

Haha yes. Eurovision is EBU's contest. Not SVT's. All SVT do is coming with suggestions for making the contest evolve and make it better, which EBU likes. They wouldn't make the decisions to change it if they didn't.

I get that the EBU reference group is rubber stamping their approval of their decisions, but that doesn't mean another host would come up with these "good" ( :emma: ) decisions. Sweden is probably my favourite country ever, but in terms of Eurovision; their cost-cutting decisions (both in 2013 and 2016) and attempts to shape the contest around melodifestivalen aren't great (in my opinion anyway obviously).

The added benefit of Sweden never winning again is Ireland keeps its record, and its peak and Riverdance is still far more impressive than any other nations' :green:
