Que?!! Blank Space certainly not R&B, are you serious?

It is as pop as it gets, and it is by Max Martin, the godfather of generic pop music.

Just becauae you heard a hints of it does not make a song R&B, it should be more stronger and obvious sounds in a song for people to recognise them as particular genres.

Hmm... I can see it as Irreplaceable 2.0. With much different lyrical content of course...

If you haven't seen the artist, didn't know Max Martin, would you have the same opinion then?

Same for Beyonce's Irreplaceable. Would you have identified it as r&b on first listen?

Yes and yes, come now, as I said Blank Space is as pop as it gets no matter who singing it, well, maybe it matters cos the vocals of somebody can be so soulful that it adds strong colour into a song.

Maybe the production. I agree with that. But vocally, I don't think she's really giving off R&B vibes to me. Idk, I could be wrong.

No. You're not wrong

I don't think Blank Space has any R&B sound.

Sometimes their race may affect that but I don't think it's that common.

For me Beyoncé is totally pop, she just gets labeled as an Rnb artist cause she's black, for me she just has rnb influences.

How do you define R&B then?

And I agree about Blank Space, if you only listen to the instrumental, it's rnb influenced.
