However, I do disagree on the transcripts. While I see your point in that it's a breach of privacy, she's running to be President of the United States and because the contents of the transcripts have potential implications with her candidacy, I believe they're fair game and should be released (but that's just me, and one of my lesser angsts against her). You don't think it's unfair that she is being put in this position? I said this: Hillary is right. She should not release the transcripts unless everyone else does. Even if Sanders doesn't have any speeches in particular, that does not put him in the place to dictate what should be released and who should release them. What stops Hillary from accusing Sanders of making corrupt deals on the phone and demanding he release his phone records? What stops Trump from accusing Hillary of engaging in sexual proclivities on Tinder and demand that she release her Tinder records? Do you disagree? You approve of this manipulative tactic to make her look like a bad person? I understand where you're coming from, but even the President is afforded the right to privacy. If you want to make assumptions on her intent regarding the speeches, then that's your prerogative. It doesn't deny that's all that they are: assumptions. Hillary is a prestigious woman with a great deal of history in politics from First Lady to Senator to Secretary of State. She gets paid a lot. That's all there is to it. 9 minutes ago, Legalize Chris said: I'm well aware Bernie has flaws, and that's why I'm not particularly devastated if he loses the nomination (and he likely will). It is why I'm looking at the other options; I prefer fluidity rather than dedicating myself 100% to one candidate in a political landscape that is constantly changing. I love Bernie, but do I worship him and blindly follow everything he says? No. As for him using the Democratic Party, I have absolutely no qualm for that. Because of the way our system is constructed, the Democratic Party and Republican Party are virtually an ingrained part of the United States government. There isn't a way to be elected (at the moment) without being a member of either party. I'm glad that Bernie is pragmatic enough in that respect to know he had 0 practical chance of winning as an Independent and decided to run in the Democratic Party. And as I've said before, I greatly dislike both parties so it's kind of a nonissue for me. I don't disagree with your logic, but isn't it a bit selective of you to decide where dishonesty ends and pragmatism begins? You may dislike the system, and gaming it is understandable. It doesn't make he did any less of a breach of his principles. 9 minutes ago, Legalize Chris said: While I am still leaning heavily towards Stein, I will definitely go back and look over Hillary's past policies and record again. Go crazy. How about you tell me why you support Stein other than her stances. Anyone can have good stances. What makes you approve of her specifically? Am I correct that it's more about what she represents than what she can do? You never addressed that point and I'm interested to know why she is getting support from people. If it's not Hillary, it's good. As long as it's not Hillary. A few of them, yes. Unfortunately, eight tears of Trump may be what some people are going to need before they understand the importance of the situation. Many of these Bernie or Bust people didn't live through the Bush years and if they didn't, they don't really comprehend what that would mean. A couple of Trump terms and any moderate candidate will make the most conservative Democrat look like Ralph Nader. Lol In eight years, people will be falling over themselves to get a moderate in office. Of course, by then, we will have two new Supreme Court Justices for sure and quite possibly up to four. Four new conservative Justices will set times back for decades to come for anyone who isn't a straight white male, but that's how it goes. Maybe in forty years or so, we will get back to a more balanced Supreme Court.
