Applause wasn't really rushed. Gaga said she and DJWS were working on it for quite a while, and she commented about learning the choreo while still in bed recovering from hip surgery. And Gaga was also finishing up Born This Way weeks before the actual release of the album, Black Jesus was still being worked on very close to release date of album. And there are songs for ARTPOP or what was LG4 being worked on straight after Born This Way was released. What was rushed was the choice to make Do What U Want a single and shoot the video, which Gaga only had a couple weeks to come up with an idea for and shoot. It's an over exaggeration that ARTPOP is a rushed album. It's more of an album created in response to everyone telling Gaga what she should do and that fury is reflected in the album.

and also I think the main problem with ARTPOP wasn't that "it was rushed", it is that Gaga and DJWS were trying to create too many songs at once, they wrote and recorded 100 songs, in trying to perfect all of the songs, they didn't necessarily have time to focus on just 10 or 20 for the album, I think they got a little too ambitious. And then there was other producers who came in with other songs such as Zedd and Madeon with theres completely throwing what Gaga and DJWS had created off course because the sounds may not have agreed with each other. Instead of trying to create a bunch of songs for LG5, and giving the label free reign to choose what goes on the album, she should focus on creating a select few that can have proper time to focus on. Too many chefs spoil the soup.

That is correct, you must have bought the album 

It doesn't change the fact that a lengthier process doesn't always result in an incredible album so the duration isn't an indicator of quality.

yes of course!  But I agree that I don't want the songs to sound outdated...She totally blew it with the trap stuff honestly.... Hopefully the music she is making is forever fresh and timeless that it won't matter when she releases

That's cause her label wanted it to be an ep so that they can repackage it with The Fame but to Gaga it was an album, initially the label just wanted  3 new songs in the style of JD, PF and The Fame basically. Also don't forget she recorded Out Of Control, No Way, Reloaded, Bloody Mary (TFM version), Earthquake and many more songs that didn't make the cut, so technically more than 8 songs that still outslay ARTPOP.

I love how people assume she's "redoing the album with Mark Ronson" or "the album is going to be crap because she's spending lots of time on it, so therefore it must be overproduced"... 

Gurls, take a siesta. She's not 'taking her time' with it because the past couple of months are the first time since ARTPOP that she has been able to focus solely on her own music, without anything else getting in the way. Have some patience and count yourselves lucky that she's not taken five years off to have a baby. 

Also, quit whining that she's not giving us any information because you KNOW if she gave us even a snippet of information, you would complain that she's overhyping it. I saw somebody whining the other day that she shouldn't have teased that "LG5 time" Instagram post last year. Just get over it. She's keeping quiet for a reason - so certain pop stars don't swoop in and steal her ideas.

I don't mind the wait for the album but that lead single better be ****in gold
